SOURCE: Dell Inspiron 6000 monitor display problem

Well it is most likely a issue with the Video driver as you are able to boot to the safe mode.I would suggest going back to the safe mode and deleting the present driver for the video from the device manager.before you restart the system just download the latest version from the support.dell.com so that you can reinstall it.Also check in the graphic properties which screen is set to be the defuat.Incase still not working i would suggest reinstalling the operating system before replacing any hardware.

SOURCE: Blank/Black Screen Asus PC 4G

When you first turn on the computer, start tapping the F8 key to bring up the safe mode screen. You have a very short window in which to press the F8 key before XP loads, so it is possible to miss it. If this happens, just restart it and try it again. Once you are on the safe mode screen, select the enable VGA mode. This will boot your computer to a default 640 x 480 resolution so you can change it back to normal.

Thanks and please don't forget to give this solution a fixya rating.

Turn off notebook. Remove the battery. Press Power button. Notebook should start working. Wait for 15 secs. If the screen still blank press Power button and hold it for approx. 4 seconds until notebook is powered off. Then press power button again. Bingo, problem should be solved.

SOURCE: My CQ61-411WM doesn't boot anymore. Symptoms:

Hi

If the graphics card was intact, the external monitor test would have given you an image.

Unfortunately, this seems like a graphics card problem common to this manufacturer (google HP Compaq Notebook Graphics Problems).

This fault can be repaired only by specialist laptop repairers with specialist tools.

The repair is called Reballing the Ball Grid Array.

Reballing has a marginal success rate and even if successful, the fault can reoccur. A typical professional repair warranty would give you 3-6 months post-repair warranty.

Sometimes the surface of the graphics chip is too damaged to repair.

This repair can be expensive as it may involve several time and labour intensive rounds of disassembly, repair, reassembly and testing.

If you do opt for repair, ensure that the repairer is a specialist, properly equipped with an Infra Red Workstation, experienced in this specific type of repair, is willing to do a No-Fix-No-Fee Repair and offers a Repair Warranty.

If the laptop's warranty has expired and the repair cost seems high to you, it may be time to consider a new laptop.

Sorry for the bad news.

Hope this helps.

Scrambled picture on my Asus vw266h

This seems to be a recurring problem with this model. If you came across this page by searching for 'asus monitor scrambled picture' then you too must be suffering from this issue. Fortunately there are several youtube videos on how to disassemble the monitor and install a new board which can be purchased on ebay for around $23 from China or $50 from USA. If you are handy with a screwdriver this just might be the money saving solution for you.

Power light lights up but monitor dont come on

HI,Dear Friends..
Do you hear the hard drive working and see the LED flickering? As you can't see the screen to log on, Windows will stop at that point.

> If you have a spare PC monitor and VGA to VGA lead check it.
> And your keyboard working properly or not, if NUMLOCK light on it means your hard drive is OK.

> Your Monitor light on/off regular, or not? if light regular blink then power come but VGA section not working. So please contact Monitor Engineer.

Hi Support I hope you can assist me with an issue thats occuring on my ASUS PG221 monitor. The monitor is recieving power and will turn on with a perfect picture and the touch panel with light up as...

From your description of the problem, I would suggest that the issue is not with the inputs, but with an internal fault. The fact it powers up then cuts off is symptomatic of power capacitors failing, or could be due to a faulty circuit component on the internal board. For reasons of safety, I'd strongly suggest that you take this to a qualified engineer for more accurate analysis and repair, rather than attempting to trace the fault yourself. Check also the main power lead and socket on the monitor and substitute it for a new one to test it.

I'm also assuming you tried this monitor on another computer? A failing graphics card or chip would also give you the problem you describe

Brand new laptop received for christmas. Screen is now black lights are on the keyboard and the hp is lighted on front.. please help how do i get my screen on?

Do you get anything on the screen before it loads windows? Did you before? If so then try the following:

Look at the function keys for the symbol that toggles display from laptop display to external monitor. On my keyboard it is F5 but it could be different on yours. Hold the Function key down then press the correct function key , ie F5 on your keyboard. You may have accidently hit the keys or tabs on the screen if your laptop has that feature. (after youre booted into windows).

If you see nothing at all when you turn on the machine --

Look at the display from the side to see if there's any light behind it. If there isn't your backlight could be out.

Plug in an external monitor. Does it get a picture? If not it could be the video card or the ram. It could also be the video driver if you get no display after booting into windows but see the logo at bootup.

My Asus EeePC 900 won't boot up. The lights come on when I press the power button, but the screen remains blank. I can't hear the machine powering up either. I've tried several things that I've read on...

You possibly could connect it to a monitor or tv to see if it shows up on there. But, yea sounds like you have an internal problem with the screen disconnected.

Asus laptop NTLDR missing

Hi supertwins,
Once you deleted the drive C: (You have trashed the operating system.
You're Asus driver CD will not help you at this stage.
Did you receive a restore CD? If yes you load that into the CDROM drive & boot to the CDROM.
(You do not have a restore CD)?
Than you are left with the Windows CD. Load the windows CD into the CD-ROM drive. Power up the notebook. Start pressing the F8 key on the keyboard. Soon you will see a screen that says: Please select boot device: Choose the CD-ROM drive that has the windows CD in it. High light the CDROM & press enter key. Windows should start to load. Follow the instructions on you're screen & install windows. During the install windows will restart & you will see: to load from CD press any key... (DO NOT TOUCH anything! Allow windows to continue all by it's self.
This same screen will come up at lease twice. (Just let it go).
When windows has finished you can than remove the windows CD & load the Asus CD into the notebook. Install all the software on the Asus CD. When finished installing the software from Asus, update windows through windows update service.
Good Luck!

CM2019 LCD MONITOR NO PICTURE

Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.
Good Luck!
