It could be your foot control has gone bad or the connection between machine and foot control have a problem.

I step on the foot pedal, the light turns on, but why won't it sew?

read your instruction manual .I own several and none turn the light on when stepping on the control pedal . all have a separate switch so the light is on to see before sewing . look up the manufacturer online and ask their tech support .

No power to my sewing machine

If you have had your Janime machine for quite some time, the pedal may have simply worn out.

Burning smell

The light may have oil on it or be too close to the plastic housing. Bend the light socket to be as far from the plastic as possible. You may need a lower wattage bulb.

No power to machine, checked power cords were all plugged in properly and plugged into outlet, still can not turn on light or machine to operate

If you have a light to light up the sewing area, this light has to be on or the machine will not work.
The switch should be next to were the cord goes in the machine.

I have a Juki MO-655. I just threaded the machine, plugged it in and when I turn it on the light comes on but the motor doesn't start when I press the foot control. I have all the doors on the machine...

I also have the Juki M)-655. Look at the power button; it should have 3 positions. First position turns the power switch Off, second position turns the power switch on and it will sew, third position turns on both the power switch and the sewing light. Several times I have thought I turned on the power switch to sew only to realize it was not in the second position. Hope this helps.

Machine wont work

PLUG IT IN BETTER. Your plug is loose at the machine or the wall.

Sewing Machine light flickers/dims while sewing.

There may be a loose connection. If this is a brand new machine the warranty should cover the repair.

Check the return policy at Sears/K-Mart as it may be better to return it for a replacement.

The sewing light on my shark intellisew 9110 has decided it's created purpose is to be a tiny timing light that strobes any time the machine is on. I have turned of, turned on, unplugged, & replugged...

I would contact the manufacturer on this one-or maybe the shop who sold it to you. If under guarantee it may well need to be returned. Look in your manual for contact details.

Flashing red light

Are you sure you have turned the foot button underneath the machine back to normal stiching and also then again for embroidary and have you placed the protective cover back for normal stiching once you removed the embroidary arm.
