Question about Fujitsu Televison & Video

Open Question

Hi have a Fujitsu ASU7RLF Heat Pump with two heads. I'm heating and cooling a 700 square foot building that is separated into two rooms. When one room is heating (steady operation light) the other won't, the head unit operation light blinks steadily. If I turn off the breaker, to the Condenser, for 1 minute, I can cause the working unit to not work and non-working unit to work (reverse the results.)

SOURCE: GE Room Heat/Cool unit will not heat with heat pump

If it was me I would cnage the sensor first. Simply because it is way cheaper than the control board and these sensors are fickle as hell to begin with.

SOURCE: Should the LG LS-K-1830CL outdoor unit ice over on

Running the heat pump in low outside ambient temps. will definitely cause the coil to ice up. An ouside temperature senor or a wind baffle should be installed in climates that get below freezing. This would definitely cause the heat pump to operate at lowered efficency and maybe not at all. It should go into defrost mode if the sensor is working correctly when the coil ices up.

SOURCE: Dear Expert, I am the owner

Hi,
Most likely you have a stuck check valve....
When the reversing valve switches for heating, the check is not opening so the pressure builds till the high limit shuts it down and then the compressor shuts down...
The pressure then spins the compressor backwards which makes alot of noise...

Find a certified refrigerant tech. that can diagnose the system and change out the bad valve...
This is NOT a DIY project!!

How many square feet will it heat

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

The Dyson AM05 Hot + Cool heater is suitable for small, medium and large rooms of up to 30 square feet. Dyson Air Multiplier technology draws in and amplifies ambient air to projects the heat further, warming the whole room quickly and evenly. And in the summer, it cools you with uninterrupted high velocity airflow.

I hope this answers your question, but if you'd like further information please visit http://www.dyson.com or give our experts a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

What is the comparison of heating 1500 cu. ft. to 1000 sq. ft.?

a cubic foot is a 12inch by 12inch square by 12inch depth its like stacking 1500 little sq. boxes in a room or two.a 12ft by12ft room with 8ft walls would hold 1152 cubic feet or little boxes.so in comparison 1500cu ft is little more than one room,1000sqft is a small house.

What could be causing one of the wall mount units to ice up on a 3 port mini split hp?

Icing is caused by one of two things.
1. The air coming in is too much and has a lot of water vapor in it.
2. The evaporator is too cold. This could be because of a low refrigerant charge

It is 106 degrees outside, I have a a/c unit which is cooling at 75 degrees in a 1180 square foot townhouse apartment, this seems like the unit is doing all it can with the excessive heat, is it

Unfortunately, 7000 Btu's will not cool 1180 sq ft. At best, it's rated for 400 sq ft, as it's only rated as a "Room Air Conditioner". To cool 1180 square feet, you'll need at least 30,000 Btu's (like in Central Air Conditioning) or 4 more window units spread out throughout the condo. It takes more Btu's to cool, than it does to heat.

I really sorry. I wish I had better news for you. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

A/c seems not to working cooling down room What are my options?

Could be several factors. Let me start by saying the unit you have should cool a room that totals around 450 square feet (Approx.).

If you do not know your rooms square footage just multiply the width of the room x the length of the room.

(e.g. 20' x 10' = 200 SF)

The above 450 SF is for a room with typical 8' ceilings. This is also a "Rule-Of-Thumb" measurement, as windows, doors, insulation, and air leakages (heat gain) also play a role in calculation of heat loads. But this will get you close....

If the room is larger than 450 S.F. in size then the unit is too small for this size room.

A rule of tumb for sizing is: every 600 square feet requires a ton (or 12,000 BTU) of cooling. Again, without doing a proper load calculation on the room or area being cooled, it is hard to be exact.

The other possibility is the unit is not operating as it should due to mechanical or other issues. This is hard to specify. COuld be refrigerant levels are low, coils dirty, or filter dirty.

Fujitsu heatpump 13 years old is not heating room as it used to.filters are clean.i have gauges and would like to know what pressures are good and what pressures indicate low refrigerant or worn...

The refrigerant and compressor are related in cooling the room.As for heating problem the thermostat needs to be checked.
if you're used to a certain temperature of air and your heat pump is producing much cooler air, take the following steps. (Note that a heat pump may go into a defrost mode to prevent icing. When this happens, it can temporarily output cold air. Also be aware that the heat pump will have to work harder to produce heat.)

1) First be sure the thermostat is set properly. Try raising the set temperature 5 degrees F. and waiting a few minutes.

2) Be sure the room-heating registers are open.

3) Check the heat pump filter. If it's dirty, change it.

4) Be sure the auxiliary heating elements are working .

5) Clean the coils of the outdoor condensing unit.
If still the same problem then thermostat needs to be checked and replaced.
Thanks.

Carrier heat pump: aux heat does not seem to work

The unit is probably to small for theare you are trying to heat.

When the Aux HT light came on that meant the heat pump could not keep up with the demand for heat. (Probably due to extreme cold, or undersized unit.)

If yu have heat, then at least one heat strip is operating. If you have multiple heatstrips, one or more could be malfuncioning.

Or it could simpy be to cold/to small fr your area and not able to keep up.

How many square foot are you trying to heat?
What is the outside temp?
What is the inside temp?
What size unit (BTU output) do you have?

How large a room does a 10,000 btu air conditioner cool

What size unit do I need for my room? Use the following chart to find the appropriate size air conditioner to use:

AREA TO BE COOLED / CAPACITY (BTU/HR)

100 to 150 square feet = 5,000

150 to 250 square feet = 6,000

250 to 300 square feet = 7,000

300 to 350 square feet = 8,000

350 to 400 square feet = 9,000

400 to 450 square feet = 10,000

450 to 550 square feet = 12,000

550 to 700 square feet = 14,000

700 to 1000 square feet = 18,000

If the room is heavily shaded, reduce needed capacity by 10%

If the room receives a lot of direct sun, increase needed capacity by 10%

Add 600 Btu/Hr for each person in the room if there are more than two people

If the unit is for a kitchen, increase the capacity by 4,000-6,000 Btu/Hr.

if this helps please vote me a fix ya
