Brake light failure

Bad circuit board tail light asseblise connector pin to board poor connection or burned push in light bulb sockets
On my '93 Chevy PU the new ones went bad within months I repaired the original ones by soldering all connector pins to the board cleaned the sockets chipping out melted plastic been working for five years now.
Care must be taken to keep solder from preventing wire connector install while using enough that plugging it in will not break these delicate unions.
Required pulling them several times to Finnish repair successfully.
Very disappointed in replacement parts.

Light bulb replacement doesn't work

Hi Liz,
The reason they want you to disconnect the power is to prevent shock while installing the new bulb. The door switch controls the light in the freshfood so you really do not need to disconnect power, just be careful not to stick your finger into the socket. In most cases the bulb is hard to get securely screwed into the socket. The moisture in the refrigerator causes defect in the metal around the bulb socket and causes the bulb not to make a secure connectioin. So to repair your problem you can first off make sure the bulb is securely screwed into the socket. If it does not work you can check the voltage at the socket for the 110 volts. You can do this with any volt meter if you have one. Sometime the new bulbs can also be bad, its rare but possible. If you are not getting the proper voltage to the socket then you may need a door switch. If you have another light working in the freshfood then the door swith will not be the problem. The door switch is the only power feed swith to the socket, so one of those two will definately fixYa. Good luck and have a great day.

Right brake light does not work we have changed the light bulb and the socket but it still does not work?

Have you checked the fuses?
Have you checked that that new bulb is working? Put the new bulb in the left side, if it works, the bulb is OK.
If none of the above and you have a new socket, then there is a break in the wiring. Good luck with trying to find that, so go to an auto-electrician.

Brake lights still not working just replaced brake swich, help

Have you checked for 12V at the bulb holders themselves? If 12V present, bulbs are bad or open ground at the light socket.

Check voltage,, with engine running, at battery.

No more than 14.6 volts at high idle......13.2 to 13.8volts at idle.

Check bulbs are not high 85 or 100watt.

Check that bulb socket fully home.

Check BROWN wire is tight at ground point or add extra ground to BROWN wire to chassis.

Buy repair loom from dealership.

Rotary dimmer control for 5 light chandelier stops dimming

Whoa...You definitely may have a fire and/or shock hazard hanging from your ceiling. I've seen a lot of fixtures with old, brittle wire and bad insulation in them. Lamp wiring is subjected to a lot of heat, especially with higher-wattage fixtures. Long term exposure to heat near or above the insulation's rating is especially damaging to electrical insulation. I've also seen cases where metal parts of the bulb socket partially melted and/or broke loose.

If you're comfortable and confident of your abilities to make a safe electrical connection, you can replace the wire and bulb sockets in your fixture. If it's valuable or an attractive antique, it's worth fixing or having fixed, even if you sell it. Just make sure you use wire with insulation rated for use in an electrical fixture. It must be rated for a temperature no less than 105 degrees Celsius.

It it's a lower cost fixture, replace it or have it replaced. Regardless of what you do, you're probably going to be replacing that dimmer again...sorry.

If you live in an older home, it may be worth (in terms of safety) having a few qualified electricians evaluate your electrical system as a whole to make sure everything is still in safe condition.

have you checked the bulb sockets to see if they are burnt or corroded sometime i see that the plastic melts around the contacts where the socket twists into the housing. if your lucky you might get away with replacing just the socket for the brake/running light bulb. but if it is too melted your most likely going to need a new housing

Right Indicator light (Amber) is not working

Try installing a different bulb in that socket. Did you check voltage at the inner prongs where the bulb goes in or was it checked at the wiring. Check the condition of the socket that the bulb goes into. You may have to cut off the socket and replace it with a good one.
