I have HT-X40 home theater, but my problem seems similar to yours. It's related to overheating. First check the fan and air flow from it. If it's OK, the problem can be inside the unit. In my case one of the output filter capacitors got broken - it had a crack on its body. Replacement of the capacitor fixed the shutdown on protection.
Another question is what damaged the cap. Preliminary I consider placement of the capacitors as a possible problem - they are too close to the output inductors which can get relatively hot even at normal working condition. For details you can check: http://craftsman-hambs.blogspot.com/2009/09/samsung-home-theater-ht-x40-shut-down.html

Make sure your speakers are connected correctly. Try disconnecting the speakers and turning on the system. If you still have an error message than your system needs to be serviced. It may be the output transistors inside your system which require an expert tech to fix.

I can't answer the first part of the question, but the DVD going blocky and jumping sounds like fingermarks or muck on the disc. It could be that when you handle the DVD your finger leaves a mark near the outside edge of the DVD. In future wipe the DVD with a glasses cloth, then handle by the very edge only.

Home Cinema Samsung HT Z310R- Speakers not working with TV

Hi,
You need just one cable that goes from your TV to your HT system.
On your TV you should see an RCA jack for "AUDIO OUT" and you need to plug that into your AUXILLARY "AUDIO IN" on your HT system
When you are watching TV and you want the sound to come through the HT system, just set the HT system to "AUX" mode. Most Samsung systems will have 3 'AUX' modes, set the remote on 'AUX 1' then wait a few seconds, if no sound comes through then set it on "AUX 2" wait a few seconds and if it doean't work try AUX 3.
Hope that helps.
