the second tray on Letter, yet says EXEC on config page, third tray works fine, swapped casettes. Those switches could go bad that hit side of casette

  • sammybu Apr 23, 2009

no, it stayed with second unit, regardless of which casette was put in

  • adi May 11, 2010

can you manually check the tray settings in the configuration menu. go to the printing menu and see if anything is set to exec

  • adi May 11, 2010

so when you swapped tray 3 with tray 2, tray started to work? and tray 3 gave you the error?

  • adi May 11, 2010

    Hi sammybu,

the first question i have for you is which paper tray are you using, what size paper are you using.

    thanks adi

Well, if all those items have been checked, it sounds like the switch board is bad.

Hi
First check the document you are printing from and make sure the paper settings on the specific document are set correctly. Then check the papersize settings on the driver,go to printers and faxes in controll panel,Right click on the ir driver, select printing properties and the printing prefences, change the papersize to the correct papersize.
then check the papersize settings on the machine under the additional usermode.
Clear the job that is stucked in the memory by pressing the monitior button (diamand with a eye sign)select print and clear the job.
Try printing again.

When printing from Word Perfect, the message MF Feed Letter comes up and I have to feed pages manually.

This means you send a printjob that needs "Letter" size and tray 2 is set to another size than "Letter". Make sure you set the papersize on the printer the same as the papersize of the printjob. Gerrit Jan

When we give print command from tally software computer hang

The problem is related with the Papersize in Windows and PaperSize in Tally.
Usually your selected PaperSize in Tally and the LeftMargin.
Just adjust both (by pressing F12 function key, just before printing).
Please try the following steps, in sequence:
1. Select the printer, just before starting the printing.
2. Select the desired PAPER SIZE and return to Tally.
3. In Tally, press F12 function key and select the desired width and height of the paper, and also the Left Margin.

This will solve the problem.

(for HP, go to www.hp.com, etc.)

Replaced fuser assembly and rollers on hp laserjet 4050. Now it prints cleaner but right side of the page fades out (prints lightly).

Are you sure the toner cartridge has toner? It may be running low with no warning. remove it and give it a few shakes, otherwise Joed is probably right about the laser optics -especially if it has been in a dusty environment.
