Whats a beaker

beakers are generally used for measureing small amounts of water
or other liquids for scientific purposes or any time precise control is
required. These clear containers ( also called graduates) are marked
like a kithen measuring cup but FAR more accurate.

Measure windows - easily and precisely

I always found it difficult to accurately measure windows with a tape measure, until I put a couple of sticks together. The sticks work great for measuring window widths for window shades or for ordering replacement windows. It is also perfect for finding a minimum width, because nothing in an old house is straight.
For measurements between about 26 and 42 inches you will need two straight pieces of wood approximately 1/4 x 3/4 x 24 inches. Round off one end on both pieces.

You can use a small clamp to lightly hold the pieces together. (Optionally, if you have a router table you can put slots in the two pieces to accomodate a bolt, nut and washers.)

Adjust the two pieces so that their combined length is just a little longer than the space you want to measure, and put only light pressure on the clamp or bolt. Twist the device through the space you are measuring so that the length of the device assumes the exact width you are measuring.

Do this in a couple of places (at the top, middle and botton of the window) to find the minimum width. Then tighten up the bolt (or clamp) just a little so it doesn't slip. Then measure the combined length of your sticks with a tape measure. This is amazingly precise.

I just replaced the rack and pinion on a 96 acura rl 3.5 All measurements are the same as the old one I took out. Now the tires are rubbing the firewalls, and I can barely turn the tires. What is still...

Hi, When you take out the steering like that it is much more precise than measurements that you an i can take. In this case you would be best off spending right around $60 and going to your local automotive alignment center where they will use a much more precise measuring system to make sure that your car is perfectly aligned. That is something that without the proper equipment is nearly impossible to achieve. Hope this helps!

I need to know about the degree in precision for when using an ac and dc voltage for a multimeter

I dont think This particular model is a True Rms Type . So you will not get accurate reading as of a True RMS Multimeter in AC . But in DC you Should atlest get an accuracy of 0.015

Battery discharges while running

My 24HP 42" did the same. If your model is like mine, there are two black wires with a yellow connector coming down the side of the engine. Unplug those wires, and with engine running, and a multimeter leads attached to them measure for 15 volts AC. If good reconnect yellow wires, and test the single red wire with multimeter red test lead connected and black test lead to any engine ground point. Measure for 15 volts DC. My problem was that square regulator that did not convert 15 VAC to 15 VDC. If your tractor is less than two years old, the warranty will cover labor and repair. Also if your tractor's wiring has different color wires, the test procedure may be different.

Hello, I want to calibrate a Marksman Distance Measure, but I dont know how I have to. Please, help me. thanks in advance

If you take a tape measure and step from the wall at exactly 10 feet, you will be able to turn the calibration knob to the same exact distance. All other distances from that point on will be precise. Thank you, Dana

Dell precision m50 will not boot power light just flashes when I push the power on button. I have reseated all of the connection in the laptop. I have tried different batteries and different power...

remove external peripherals. remove battery. use ac adapter alone. check if ac adapter has sufficient power or check if ac adapter led is solid green or blue. if not then ac adapter might not giving laptop enough power to power up.
if ac adapter led stays on but some problem check the ac adapter - laptop pin socket if loose or damage. if not then replace mobo.
