Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite Console

Xbox 360 hdmi cable

I just bought the new Samsung LNT4042H and the xbox 360 elite. I'm trying to hook up my HDMI to it but it just says weak or no signal. This unfortunately is the only thing in my house that supports HDMI so there's nothing else for me to test with it. I'm hoping that the issue is the cable is just a piece of crap and it's not something with the box or tv. Has anyone else had this issue with their HDMI cable?

Re: xbox 360 hdmi cable

Make sure both the xbox and tv are on and tv is on HDMI source. It won't recognize each other unless xbox is turned on and tv is set to the correct source.

Go to system settings then display then change your output to like 1080i or 1080p and see if it works if it doesn't try different outputs because i can't think of them right now but their are two other different outputs adjust your t.v. accordingly and see if that fixes the problem if it doesn't try a different t.v. or take the cords back and get different ones.

Hdmi cable connected nothing happens

Are you making sure to change the input settings on your TV/Home Theater System? You may have to instruct the receiving device to use the HDMI input.

Also, are you have to make sure that the settings in the XBOX are set to use the HDMI output instead.

I honestly don't own an X360 so I couldn't tell you for sure. This is a general principle one must keep in mind when using electronics in general, really.

But I did take some time to track down an instructional overview of using an HDMI connection. It's actually on MS's XBOX site. Perhaps this will help you?

Click HERE to see this site.

Also there has been the occasional report of the HDMI cable coming with the XBOX 360 Elite being nonfunctional. You may consider testing with a different HDMI cable.

Remember to make sure you are checking the OUTPUT on the X360...and the INPUTS on your HDTV. Or your Home Theater system...if that's where you're connecting it. Remember that you may need a second HDMI cable to go FROM your home theater system to your HDTV if that is the case.

Let us know what happens!

If you have an Xbox 360 Elite or a newer Xbox 360 Premium, you should use an HDMI cable if your TV supports it. Otherwise use a component cable.
