Amanda,
I dont mean to insult you so bear with me. I have gone on service calls with this issue and the problem was........the wall switch that turns on power to the washer was turned off. Often it is an ignored switch because its never used and its reason for being there has been forgotten.
That being said: many washers have fuses that are inside the door as part of the control module. Unless your a technician I dont recommend messing with it as you could get shocked. But FYI, often this fuse attaches to the side of the control module box but it does not really look like a fuse. Have your best handiman friend who is qualified check these two possibilitys out.

sounds like the pump intake maybe stopped up or the pump is worn out, with the dishes not getting clean this sounds like a pressure problem

Clean light keeps blinking; dishwaher won't turn on

Hello Brian, welcome to FixYa.
Based on your post I understand your dishwasher is a Kenmore and the clean light is flashing and it won't start, correct ?
If so, this is usually an error code indicating there was a problem in the heating process the last cycle it ran, however if you could provide the complete model number I could speak specifically to whether it applies to your machine and potentially what to do about it.
Thank you for choosing FixYa and I look forward to your reply.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)

try looking at the moisture sensor strips. usually inside the under the door area. two strips that sense moisture as the clothes roll by. these may be broke, shorted or need replaced?

My Amana Softsound 2 isn't getting dishes clean - the lower arm doesn't rotate. We cleaned around and under the arm as much as possible, got some gunk out from under, but still not rotating, so...

Check the nozzles of the arm themselves. if you found lots of gookl there maybe some inside the arms blocking the spray holes which cause it to spin

Amana dishwasher, 1 "water on bottom and white film on dishes

The problem is hard water. There is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. It filters the water before it enters your dishwasher. It works amazing and has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look after the first load. It is also very affordable (like 70 bucks). Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com to find out more info.

Hi my Zanussi DI 720 dishwasher is not filling up with water i have checked the water supply which appears to be fine. Can anyone help.

hi

If a dishwasher runs but doesn't fill, either something is wrong with its water supply system or it is draining water too soon.

1) First make sure the water is turned on. Check the hot-water supply stop valve, normally located under the sink. Open it all the way by turning it counterclockwise. If there is no reason this would have been turned off since the last time the dishwasher worked, go on to the next step.

2) Turn off the power to the dishwasher.

3) When the dishwasher is cool, look for the float inside the dishwasher; this is usually a small plastic dome or cylinder mounted inside at the tub's base, near the front. When you move most types of floats up and down, you can hear them click because they trip a lever (they are spring-loaded).

Lift out the float mechanism, and clean around the float tube. Many floats must be disconnected from below; to do this you'll have to remove the lower access panel. Rinse off the float, replace it in the tube, and make sure it moves up and down freely.

4) If you're experienced with minor repair work, shut off the hot-water valve to the appliance. Locate the water intake valve, behind the dishwasher's bottom front panel; disassemble the valve to reveal the screen; clean debris from the screen; and reassemble. If the screen doesn't appear to be blocked, call a repairperson

Hope this helps

Bauknecht GSX4756 dishwasher

I have this problem frequetly - it's an easy one to fix! Just press the programme button which changes the programme setting you want (on my built-in GSX4756 it's the last button on the right) and keep it pressed in until the beeping stops. Then start it again (will probably be on the rinse programme if it's like mine).

Dishwasher Doesn't Fill If a dishwasher runs but doesn't fill, either something is wrong with its water supply system or it is draining water too soon. 1) First make sure the water is turned on. Locate the water intake valve, behind the dishwasher's bottom front panel, disassemble the valve to reveal the screen, clean debris from the screen, and reassemble. If the screen doesn't appear to be blocked, call a repairperson (they will probably need to replace the water intake valve). 5) If none of this helps, call a repairperson. Any of several parts, including water inlet valve, pressure switch, and the timer or selector switch, may be faulty.
