This is when the camera doesn't have enough light for auto focus! to suppress it, disable the option "auto pop-up" in the settings menu of the camera. you then might risk unsharp images but strobing won't happen until you manually pop-up the built in flash.
to get rid of the whole thing, you can buy one of the olympus e-system external flashes like fl-36 or fl-50. these bring a red-light for auto focus assistance.

You can use the lens from your old OM camera on the EVOLT E-410. You would need to purchase an MF-OM-1 adapter to make those lenses fit the new digital SLR camera. Also when using those lenses the camera would need to be used in Manual mode as there is no auto focus capability when using the old OM lenses.
In your manual look up page 49 AF illuminator change the setting to off and then you rprblem will go away I have had this camera for ages and couldn't figure heaps out this was so easy to fix yet so hard to find the answer. I am also finding that the photo that I see throught the lense is good and nice colour until I put the shuter button down and the photo changes colour then are you having the same problem?
I have the Olympus e-410 and I cant get the pictures to upload to my PC. I have connected it and have gone into easy print and normally that works. I have even had to turn the camera off and on a few times and then it will kick in but it wont do any of that this time. I cant find the manual and it was my husbands camera before we got married and he only upload once before that. HELP!
