Question about LG 42PX5D 42 in. Plasma HDTV

Open Question

No Power 'LG 42PX5D 42IN.

No Power at all. Everything is plug in the 10amp - 125 v power cords. Does really make a difference frm the original power cord 7am - 125v? Is this the reason why is not turning on? No sign of life at all

SOURCE: SCREEN FOR LG 42PX5D 42 in.

I have dealt with Lg in the past regarding screens and they are unable to sell them as a spare as they are so expensive, they are only used in production and a complete new HD TV is cheaper to buy than a screen. for example LG37LP1D £900.00, a replacement screen £1500.00

SOURCE: LG 50PC5D 50 Plasma Won't turn on

If you check underneath the t.v there may be a button that you need to push. then you can use the remote to turn it on. took about 2 hours before I found it.

mine is located on the bottom left, right underneath the screen.

SOURCE: My 42"LG 50 TV will not turn on

One important step to see if you are having an internal problem is to perform a power drain.

1. Unplug the product's power cable so that the device is not grounded to the house. Do not simply turn off the power-bar if one is in use.
2. Press and hold in the products power button for 1 minute to release the retained electricity from the capacitors and circuit board. 3. Plug the product back into the wall outlet rather than a power-bar to rule it out of contributing to the problem and turn the device back on.
If this does not work but you are still seeing a LED lit up, there is probably a problem between the TV's power supply and the mainboard and service maybe required.

SOURCE: My LG 42"tv shuts off by it self

hello, The best way to fix this is by opening the back cover of the television set.
The power light may be flashing or if you are runing with a series light bulb it may be cycling on and off continuously. There may be a chirping or clicking sound from inside the set. (Note: using too small a series light bulb load during testing for the size of the TV may also result in this condition.)
If there is a low voltage regulator or separate switching supply, it could be cycling on and off if the horizontal output, flyback, or one of its secondary loads were defective.
Does this TV have a separate low voltage regulator and/or switching power supply or is it all part of the flyback circuit? For the following, I assume it is all in one (most common).
Some simple things to try first:
Verify that the main filter capacitor is doing its job. Excessive ripple on the rectified line voltage bus can cause various forms of shutdown behavior. An easy test is to jumper across the capacitor with one of at least equal voltage rating and similar capacitance (make connections with power off!).
Use a Variac, if possible, to bring up the input voltage slowly and see if the TV works at any point without shutting down. If it does, this could be an indication of X-ray protection circuit kicking in, though this will usually latch and keep the set shut off if excessive HV were detected.

Lg ibm multinet i tower allows power to the motherboard but wont start up, what should i do?

remove the power cord, remove the bios battery, short the two contact together in the battery holder for a few seconds, replace the battery and power cord and try again.
if that doesn't work, start removing items/plugs (not the big 20/24 pin one) from the motherboard until you get beeping noises.
if still nothing then put everything back and try a different power supply.
if that doesn't work, your motherboard is probably dead.

THERE WILL BE A CAPACITOR GONE FAULTY IN THE POWER SUPPLY,,

IF U OPEN UP THE BACK LOOK ON THE TOP OF THE CYLINDER TYPE CAPACITORS THAT STAND UP THE ALLOY ON TOP SHOULD BE FLAT ON THEM ALL ... IF ONE IS BULGING AND TOP HAS BURST OR READY 2 BUST THEN REPLACE WITH A SOLDER IRON,, THIS WILL FIX THE SLOW START UP AS THE CAPS NEEDING TO GET WARM TO FIRE UP THE PSU,,
