Dead hard drive, replacement not working

The solution is that you simply cannot go out and buy a replacement HD. You have to buy TOSHIBA's replacement HD.

They make a 40, 80, 160 and 320 GB HD for Tecra MV2's etc.- Other HDs simply will not detect.

Toshiba tecra m2v s330

Try borrowing a compatible HDD instead of buying a third one for testing and check if the same error exists. Try also using an external DVD drive to see if your internal CD-ROM is defective. Try also using another Windows XP CD installer. You can also use other OS installation CD to check it. Otherwise, there is something wrong with your lappy's motherboard due to tear and wear, heat, vibration, misuse and shock.

OS is Corrupted

Well in an effort to fix this you must purchase the disks to do a reinstall of your OS. In order to save the data, you should try to get a New HD, place the OS onto this one and slave out the old one to get all of your files from the old HD.
