11.9 v is fine too. There is a 5% tolerance on the voltages, often things will function with a 20% variance.

Why is PC cutting out when graphics under load

Hello, I am the technician that will be assisting you today. My name is Norman-Wynne Damstra.

Welcome to Fixya, Smayson.

You computer system is quite substantial. It needs a solid, stable power supply. One that can output high loads for a continued period of time.

I would say you need a power supply of at least 850Watts form a good Power supply manufacturer. Corsair or Cooler Master. 80+ efficiency if possible.
It is also a good idea to take your computer system into a computer store for testing. They could connect a good power supply and check that it solves your problem, before purchase.
Take care!

HI I have a D865 PERL m/b. The CPU overheated, due to a load of dust blocking the heatsink fins. I have cleaned it all up and the heatsink should be fine now, but when I try and boot I get a message...

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS you can load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults ,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
or
During the boot process tap the f8 button three times this will boot into safe mode where the only things working will be your mouse and keyboard enabling you to attempt to repair your computer
Also you might try
Turn Off the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10 key,ie: Alt+F10, it will open the recovery console ,select full factory restore and follow on screen instruction. (Note:this will erase all datas on the computer)
hope this helps

Shuts down on boot up

hi sir,

Does it just shuts down or it reboots?
If it shuts down this type of problems can be resolved by scanning the computer for a virus or
using the Windows Repair Disks. During boot if you can hit F8 and use safemode with command and prompt.

1 Type CHKDSK/F then hit enter
2 Press Y then hit Enter then reboot to see if this works.

If it reboots while booting up then.

Other things that might be preventing the computer to boot up most likely is the memory.
Take out the memory put it on a different slot or try a new memory.
Also make sure that the power supply fans are not dirty this prevents the computer to bootup.

Asus a8v-vm se fans always run

Hi jderek4, try this. locate the toggle switch on the back of the power supply. Just find it do not flip it.
Plug the PSU's power cord into the PC. Just as you got a good connection & the PC begains to power up move the toggle switch to it's other position. The PC should power off that very second.
If the PC does not shut off than the PSU is bad. If it did shut down wait a few seconds. Press the cases power on button. The PC should start to boot up. Let it finish loading. Click the start button & choose to shut down windows. The PC should shut off.
Yes? If not than your back to (bad power supply). Swap it out.
