SOURCE: HP PSP 2355

the only thing that can be done is to go to your printers and faxes folder and looking for your HP printer icon, right click on it and select uninstal, switch off and remove printer from the usb port Next go to add/remove programmes and look for any HP printer software listing and uninstall it and restart the pc. If you have the installation cd that came with the printer reinstall the driver and when prompted reconnect the printer to a usb port preferebly a different one than before if you have spare and continue. reset the HP printer to the default printer if not already been prompted to do so by the software and try again printing, if the result is the same the printer itself is faulty and requires servicing or replacing

SOURCE: How do I get fix a "carriage jam"?

I was able to run run a piece of photo paper through a couple of times and printer now seems to be working again. The theory was that running a heavy piece of paper through might help clear little piece of paper that was not visible. The photo paper is less likely to tear if it gets jammed too.

On that printer, you can't pull out the main tray. This video shows how to clear a paper jam on the C7280.

SOURCE: My printer pulls in about 8 sheets of paper at

It may think there is a jam because it expected lets say a single A4 and when it shot the paper through the sheets became separated a little so it looked longer than a sheet of A4.

A real easy way on ensuring that you don't get too many of these situations is not to overload the feed tray. Also just before you put the paper in do the "desktop shuffle" separate it a little then tap the sheets back together on the table both top and side. Also never use paper that has been allowed to become damp in any way.

Tip

How to troubleshoot paper jam problem in printers?

Most common reason are as follows:-- Among the most common problems with any make of printer are paper jams. A printer will jam for any number of reasons: It’s dirty, the wrong paper type is being used, or the rollers on the printer that feed the paper through its pathway are worn down. While cleaning the printer periodically and using the correct paper type are easy fixes, roller replacement can be a difficult job depending on the model of HP printer. For some HP printers, the rollers are easily accessible, but you'll need to completely tear down other models to remove the rollers. Regardless of the cause, when removing a paper jam, always pull the paper in the direction of the paper path, because pulling it backwards can severely damage the printer.

Certain HP printers are more susceptible to paper jams than others. In my experience, any printer that holds the paper vertically and then pulls it down through the printer invariably ends up having paper jam problems. These models aren't designed for heavy use, but many organizations make use of them on individual systems and should be aware of this flaw. In addition, some people have trouble with the newer HP 4000 series printers' paper pickup rollers—which is odd, because the older 4000 and 5000 series HP printers are considered rock solid and don't seem to have any trouble with their pickup rollers.
This will help.good luck.

Says its out of paper, but there is paper in it

look and make sure that the paper roller is taking it. its a small roller that sucks the paper in, and they go bad and can be replaced. if its not taking it, look for tiny remnants of a paper jam that someone may have pulled out, usually very very small and have to use tweezers to pull out.
if no jam and the paper tries to feed but slips than rough up the roller and clean with rub. alch.
also, look for a sensor or a button like on a refridgerator to make the light go out, you know what i mean, and sometimes it can be stuck or dirty or ink covered or broken.

The print output on the paper is crooked.

The back of the unit has a piece which pulls off to clear paper jams. It was not fully pushed in. I found the solution on another post that was on your site.

Document feeder works for printing but not for scanning

Hi, When you had the doucment feed jam were you able to clean or remove any paper that might be blocking the paper to be scanned? It sounds like there is paper still in the document feeder , I would open the DF and check very closely to make sure no paper is in the way!Good Luck!
