    1. My laptop is at home and this is my work e-mail. I will try this when I get home. Thank you. Another problem is that I live in Bermuda.

Can you see anything at all? check in under intense light to see if there is an image that isn't being lighted. Also, do you know for certain that the computer is starting properly? do you hear it come on or see a screen flicker at all? Check the brightness too because at it's lowest setting it turns off the backlight completely. If you can, try to hook it up to an external monitor to see if the computer is producing an image. You could check the FixYa listings for Computer Repair (at the right of this page) to see if someone can take a look at it cheap/free to give you an estimate.

Hello,
It looks like a hardware problem: you backlight is probably faulty, or the screen is set up to the least luminosity

That problem sounds like a video card issue. I suggest you try with an external monitor and see if you have success. If your MB works that way, definitely a video card issue. If is still under warranty (AppleCare) call Apple ASAP. Good luck!

MacBook Pro took a drop, boots up but nothing on the screen.

The screen, the cable that connects to the screen or something internal has taken a hit. You'll need to get it serviced to find out which. Sorry, but there's not much diagnosis we can do from a distance.

My Apple mac book pro will not boot up. I have a grey screen. I've taken out the battery held doen the on button for 5 seconds and re connected it nut I've still got a grey screen. Help

The grey screen is the bios of your laptop is booting, this is freezing for some reason.
Do 3 things.
Try holding power button down for longer at least 10-20 seconds.
do a PRAM reset, apple symbol, alt P & R keys all held on boot up.
Do a smc reset.
  1. Shut down the computer.
  2. Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected.
  3. Remove the battery.
  4. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
  5. Release the power button.
  6. Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.
  7. Press the power button to turn on the computer.

My MacBook wont charge

So does the organge light still not come on now? If it doesn't try a different charger first. If that fails, your DC-Jack module or logic board may need to be replaced. There are detailed instructions on how to do the restore online. Here is an Macbook Repair Guide that shows how to open a Macbook. If you want somebody else to do it for you go to Macbook Repair.

Try booting into the BIOS Screen and resetting to factory defaults. If that fails suggest swapping the hard drive out and re-install the Operating System - Save your old data and migrate the data off the old drive. You can buy an external drive adapter to connect the harddrive to a USB port to migrate you data.
Good Luck!
