Question about Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 40 GB Hard Drive

Hard disk not detected

If you can help me i will be very greatfull to u......... I have a Seagate ST3160211AS Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 160 GB Hard drive and a Seagate ST340014A Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 40 GB Hard drive connected to my mercury motherboard.. When i log in to Windows XP and go to My Computer I can see the partitions on 160 GB hard drive but not the partitions on the 40 GB one.. It is detected in the device manager but it is not seen in my computer.. Can any1 please help me solve this proble.. I guess it has something to do with changing the RAID options...

    I have 80 GB hard disk when i was making partition of the drive it shows just 32 GB. I don't know why it is happening.

The problem is that u have done partitions for 160 GB harddisk, so do all the partitions of 40 GB or less than that.

Verify what Drives have been detected by your Operating System by using Windows: Control Panel -> Admistrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management -> Your Hard disk(s) will be displayed with all existing partitions and any assigned drive letters.
Your external (or internal) drive must be recognized as having formatted partitions that have a drive letter assigned to each required partition.

Detecting problme


Hard drive was gone, you can send to seagate as RMA if it's within 5years warranty.

Ok, look at the hard disks circuit board, look for rust or something suspicious.

Hard disk I/O error cannot formate harddisk shows no fixed disks how to solve


Please try to check with your cmos system if it was detected, if not means your harddrive was absolutely damage.
