The scraper for the toner cartridge is broken, either get a new toner cartridge with scraper or just a scraper, depending on what type of cartridge it takes

There is somthing that is wrong with the FIxation device before the paper arrives out of the printer not a easy fix but it can be repaired rest assured. I do not have a quick solution for you other then to take it to a printer repair shop to have that looked at the toner is not doing what its is ment to do when the peper comes out. also make sure there is not toner debris by buying a cna of compressed air and spraying it really good. Take out the toner shake it put it back in try it, run a print test.

Its going to be either the toner cartridge or the fuser. What I would recommend, if you have a spare toner, try it out, if you don't, take the toner cartridge out and look to see if you can see the same indentation on the drum (remember, make sure you are looking at the correct side, when you flip the drum, its the other side), if not most, its the fuser and its worn out.

It is possible that the cleaning blade on your toner cartridge is malfunctioning. Try replacing it.If you can time it right, try shutting down printer in middle of print job when copy is between toner and fuser and see if the problem is before it reaches the fuser.

When printing, I have a streak of ink along the page. What can I do to clean out that streak?

Printing or copying?:
Step 1: Only on Printing:Check with another cartridge,
Check Teflons sleeve(Grey colored Teflon coated film an internal part of fuser assm) got damaged? replace it if not available replace fuser assm.
Step 2: Only on copying: Check through ADF or flat bed?
Clean flat bed glasses(Bigger one and smaller one)
User's can perform step 2, where as step 1 only professionals can do.

I have a one inch streak down the middle of my printed page on my HP laserjet 1600 printer

Streaks (thicker lines) indicate faulty PCR Roller which is located behind the green drum inside the cartridge. As the printer has 4 cartiridges, you have to identify the faulty one. You may replace the cartridge or get the PCR Roller changed by a professional.

Let me know if any further clarification is required. Hope this helps!

When printing, I see a vertical streak on the printed page, from top to bottom, about 2 1/4 inches from the left side of the paper, and about 1/16 of an inch wide. I can't seem to see what causes this. The...

This is more than likely down to the upper roller in the fuser assembly. It's the heat roller at the back of the printer. The upper roller wears so paper dust and toner stick to the roller which then can get deposited back on to the page.

Lines down both the left side of the printouts.

good day,

this usually occurs when you print large volume of copies of documents that goes beyond the printable area of the paper, some powders stick in the roller of your printer hence making the gray streak.

you can check if the rollers have accumulated some powder, if so, have the rollers cleaned.

i hope this will help.

Printing streaks

Sounds like the fuser.
stop the printing before it comes out of
the exit rollers by powering it off.
If half your page is good its the fuser.

2 IN. GRAY AREA DOWN SIDE PAPER

There are several things that can cause this. A worn toner cartridge and/or transfer roller can cause vertical smears, but it may also be a worn fuser assembly. The teflon coating on the fixing (heat) roller wears off, and leaves vertical streaks of varying widths on the pages. Sometimes you may see "ghost" images on the pages for the same reason. Open the back door of the printer, and hold down the exit guide on the fuser (carefull, it may be very hot). There are two long rollers, the lower one is black, the upper roller is either grey or shiny brown. That's the teflon coating. See if it's peeled or damaged. If so, replace the fuser assembly.
