SOURCE: Pen in chute 1 has tsr failure.

Your black ink cartridge is bad.
Pen = ink cartridge
chute 0 = color cartridge holder
chute 1 = black cartridge holder
tsr = Themal sensor resistor

There is something on your scanner glass. Clean the glass with glass cleaner. If this happens when using the automatic document feeder, open the top side cover where the paper feeds into. There is a narrow glass strip there. Clean that as well.

If this fails, the scanner head has a bad sector on the CCD and will need to be replaced. You will probably find that it will be cheaper to replace the printer entirely if that is the case.

If my HP C5280 goes "offline" how do I get it back "online"??

1. Check to make sure the connection to the printer is good.
2. Check to make sure the printer is powered on.

Once you are sure of that:
Vista
3. Go to start > control panel > classic view > printers
4. Right click on your printer and click use online.

XP
3. Go to start > control panel > switch to classic view if not already there> Printers and Faxes
4. right click on your listed printer and click on use online.

You should be good at this point, drivers may reload but should not need the disc.

HP Photosmart C5280 printer - 1 month old not printing correctly

Usually this problem is indicative of a clogged nozzle. I'm not sure about the track record of the Photosmart C5280 (a lot of Epson printers have this problem, and you just have to keep replacing the ink cartridges). I'm going to assume you tried this, but go ahead and run a few cleaning cycles on the printer, and see what happens.
