Question about Zoom X6 (5590) DSL Modem (55900003)

Zoom x6 in full bridged mode

Good Morning all,

I have searched google and these forums, but can not seem to figure out what is going wrong with my port forwarding.

Problem: Can not ssh to internal server.

Setup:

ADSL WAN line connected to the RJ11 jack on my Zoom x6 (model 5590C). Zoom router is currently set to FULL Bridged mode.

Cat6 cable is connected to Port 1 on the Zoom router, the other end of the cable is connected to the WAN port of my WRT54GL (running Tomato v1.23). Other linux boxes are connected to the LAN ports of the WRT54GL.

I am able to see the Internet from all computers on the Local Lan inside of the WRT54GL.

In Tomato I see the Public WAN IP that is being passed to it via the Zoom router.

WAN IP: 9x.xx.xx.xx

LAN IP: 10.xx.xx.xx/28
LAN DHCP: is on and working correctly.

Port forwarding->Basic->Has the following (lets use port 55555):

On |||| Proto |||| Src Addr |||| Ext Prots |||| Int Ports |||| Int Addr |||| Description

X |||| TCP |||| [left blank] |||| 55555 |||| 55555 |||| 10.xx.xx.14 |||| ssh server

Now I have no special Iptable rules added to the WRT54GL as of yet... since I can't ssh in yet either..

The server have port 55555 entered in its /etc/ssh/sshd_config and I can access this by all computers on the internal LAN, so the server config is good. But I cannot access anything if I am coming in thru the WAN.

nmap shows that all normal ports are filtered, which is good, but if I run:

nmap -P0 -sV 9x.xx.xx.xx -p55555

The reply is also filtered. When I try to ssh to my WAN IP from the WAN it times out.

Tomato logs are not seeing the attempted scans, though iptables is reporting 'DROP's from other things on the Internet.

When I dump the Tomato Iptables config it appears to be right to me and unfortunately I did not bring a copy of them to work with me today.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there anything that I need to explain further or that is not clear in my post?

ANY input on this would be GREATLY appreciated, even if its just a link to something that might help.

Thank you all in advance!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Corel DRAW X6 problems

Hi,
I presume you mean CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 and NOT technical Suite?
If nothing seems to work I would then do as follows.
1.Uninstall CorelDRAW X6 via Control Panel
2.After uninstalling X6 in the Control Panel - Go BACK to the Control Panel and uninstall "Corel Graphics - Windows Shell Extension".
3.Then go to Documents > Corel folder > Uninstall/Delete anything that says CorelDRAW X6
4.You can also go to C: > Program > Corel and delete anythign that says CorelDRAW X6
5.Repeat step 4, but choose folder called Programx86, and delete anything that says CorelDRAW X6
6.You should now have uninstalled everything that useally could disturb when you re-install from scratch.
7.NOW put in your DVD again with CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 - and INSTALL from Scratch.
8.You SHOULD now be able to run your CorelDRAW X6.
9.And NOW you should go online to www.corel.com and download and install Update/service pack and Hotfix for CorelADRAW Graphics Suite X6
10.It should in all normal situations work just fine on your PC with any Windows 7 version as well as any Windows 8 and 8.1 version.
11.Try to use a program to recover and view CDR files. For example, you can try this CDR Open File Tool http://www.cdr.openfiletool.com/
12.Also recommend to come to this forum. Many have useful information on the topic. http://www.filerepairforum.com/forum/cad-tools/cad-tools-aa/coreldraw/479-problems-with-cdr-files
Good luck and hope this helps!

Google search

Try zooming your the Safari window (click the green button at the top left of the window's frame) or try putting Safari into full-screen mode (click arrow thingy at top right of window frame) to see if the text box reappears. You can switch in and out of full-screen mode by typing control-command-F.

If this doesn't do the trick, navigate to a SPECIFIC page in Google search (start at www.google.com), then open Safari Preferences, click the General tab, and click the "Set to current page" button.

Is the Zoom ADSL X6 modem router supposed to provide connectivity for a 3G Kindle? If so, how do I set things up?

Zoom X6 routers don't work with either Kindles or Nooks- it seems the connect on demand to save power confuses the Zoom router - typically requiring the unpractical fix of rebooting the router every two minutes.

I am trying to get to the Zoom configuration manager , can you help ? When i type in the address given with the instructions on google it doesn't seem to go to the right address.

Hi,
First of all you will need an ethernet cable, when you have got one connect it to one of the ethernet ports at the back of the modem (not the internet port that is on its own) and the other end to the LAN port on your computer and make sure the modem is switched on.
If you look in the system tray (bottom right hand side) you will see the system detecting the modem, it will say connected but local only.
Now open a web browser and in the address bar (the bar that starts with http) delete the address by just clicking at the end and hit the back space.
Now you can follow your instruction manual to access Zoom manager, your input in the address bar will start like this 192.168........

If you need anymore help please post back.

Good luck.

Zoom X6 installation

you need a ethernet network card, if you want it connected to the x6 directly, or you can get a wireless card for the desktop.
the instruction for setup the x6 is straight forward. but you need to follow it to the letter, otherwise it won't work.

if you need more information please email me at frcs68@hotmail.com

please rate if the answer solved your porblem.
thank you

Zoom x6 adsl modem not found

I had the exact same problem as amiewolf. I just did something half an hour ago and everything seems to be working fine right now. I'm not sure if it completely fixed the problem but it seems like it at least helped.

Go into your Windows Task Manager (ctrl+alt+del). Click on the Processes tab. Under CPU click twice, the first click sorts ascending and the second descending. Look at the programs taking up the most space. Don't worry about the System Idle Processes because that is only free space for programs. I had two things called mghtml.exe which I found out was the program that runs McAfee Security Center. I closed it anyway because it was taking up a lot of CPU. The second was a strange program called 4219746F.exe. I think this is a virus or something but I ended the process because it was taking up about 70% of the CPU and after that everything worked fine.

I hope this helps both of you and anyone else that visits this page with the same problem. I am not sure yet if this has any kind of bad side effect but nothing wrong has happened yet. I advise you not to do this though unless you absolutely have to use the internet and don't care what might happen.
