You will need to contact Direct TV for a list of remote codes that they use to program their remotes to control Panasonic TVs.

SOURCE: Direct TV remote does not control TV on/off or volume.

I have the same setup like you. Direct TV and Emerson LCD TV. The Direct TV remote stores a limited amount of codes and none worked on my TV. Sadly it's not something you can update. They seem to only stick with the popular codes. Welcome to the "head of the curve" like me. lol

SOURCE: Unable to reset Lamp Hour Meter on Panasonic PT-50LC14

Try this, using the Panasonic remote, wait until the notice about your lamp goes AWAY (it wont work with the message still up).
Hold the volume down on your tv while holding the split/play button on the remote.
You will get a notice about 4-5 seconds later that it was reset.

Programming EUR7724KCO Panasonic Universal Remote Control

To program the remote, press and hold the TV button. Then enter the 2 digit code from the code list. The EUR7724KC0 will only control TVs from about 17 manufacturers that were manufactured before the remote was programmed. If the given code for the TV brand doesn't work or the manufacturer isn't listed, then the remote can't control that TV. I'll list a few of the codes (see the manual, link below, for more):
Panasonic 01, 02
RCA 03
Samsung 14

The EUR7724KC0 remote came with several devices including the PV-D4734S DVD/VCR. The directions for programming the TV code are on page 28 of that manual. The code list is on page 29. This manual is available from Panasonic here: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/PVD4734S.pdf . Since this particular DVD/VCR model was listed at Amazon in 2004, it probably won't work for TVs built in that year or later.

I hope this helps.

Program this remote to control volume on my panasonic tv

Hey teresa_ne685,

Programming the remote to a TV can definitely be done. I have provided the steps below along with a few codes. You can visit the link to look-up your model specific codes!

Link: http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/remote-setup

Codes: 765, 644, 811, 512, 700, 823

Addressing Remote to TV:

1.) Press and hold the clear TV button until all mode lights light up.
2.) Release and TV light will be blinking.
3.) Enter code and press #. The TV button should flash 3 times.
4.) Try functions (Volume, Power, etc..) and see if working.
5.) If no function, repeat steps 1-4 with another code.

Let me know here if you have any other questions!

You may have to try a different universal remote control. All universal remote controls do not contain all possible codes.

Do you still have the instruction booklet for the Tv? Find the remote codes and try re-programming the remote. If this still happens try programming an after market universal remote. Hope this helps.

I just installed direct tv and their remote wont let me change volume. if I use the tv remote I lose the programming. Need a code so the tv can be controlled by direct tv's remote.

Hi, post the direct TV remote # and the box model # so I can lookup the info for you. you probably already know directTVs remote programming is built into the menu (codes and all).
You did not mention if the DT remote powers the TV on or off?
post more info if you still need help and I'll try
Thanks

Cant program directtv remote to sony tv

I'm not sure of your model number but those remotes use the NEC codes and the variants on the NEC codes. If that code set is not the databse, you may have to "learn" it on your particular remote.

Good luck
