Question about Jandy Laars Lite2 Lg 250,000 Btu Heater

1 Answer

Lasts pool heater lg. No gas valve opening. Checked sty.with guide everything pointed to control board. Bought one installed board, switch, thermometer control and temp sensor. All readings the same 500mg to control board from switch.Nothing coming out. I think wire coming out th to gas valve th is the ground. When I bypass board with wire from switch to th on gas valve it opens and fires up. Any thoughts? Driving me crazy. By the way I got another new board with same results.

SOURCE: Panel reads "water sensor opened"

I had the same problem. The water sensor is on a pipe running into your pump. It will have a circular clamp around it. Remove the clamp and pull the sensor out of the pipe. The wires should run into your control box. disconnect the wires and replace. My water sensor was part 7790. Not sure if you have the same one. Do an online search. has them for $50 plus 9 for shippng. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Laars LG 250,000 Bypassed Safty's But NO Burner Light

Have you checked your pilot generator voltage while everything is connected properly? You may have a shorted wire or limit or even thermostat. If you jump the TH connections on the gas valve, it would lead to shorted, inoperable safety, thermostat.

If everything is connected properly, the MV reading should be 500+, less than this and you are losing power somewhere.

Error code hf hayward model h200ped2 after replacing control module

HF is a flame sense failure. make sure the off\on switch is in the on position (on gas valve in heater) if you are using an automation system, you should see BO when the pool is running and heat is not called for. if this is the case, you need to take the heater off of remote control and try to manually call for heat using the buttons on the heater. if it fires, that would make me think that there is a compatability issue between the new board on heater and old board on automation.

Hayward spa pool heater pilot on, heat does not ignite burners

Don't really think the gas company would be checking your pool heater, they most likely just checked their gas connections. I would suspect a few things; control module, thermostat, gas valve, pressure switch. You say you get pilot light, and as long as it doesn't turn off and on, as if it is not being sensed, then I would suggest the control module is fine. If the pilot and main burner is controlled by the same valve, and your pilot light stays lit, then I would suggest the thermostat is fine. I take back the pressure switch since the pilot will ignite. I would check power to the gas valve solenoid and see if the control module is trying to open the gas valve. I would suspect low voltage, probably around 24v. If voltage is present and no gas, I would say you found the problem.

if you have not been keeping the water balanced, there may be a buildup in the pipes inside the heater core. this would cause the heater to work harder, produce less heat transfer and cause the over temperature sensor to kick out before meeting the set point.
