Try booting in safe mode ( restart the computer tap on the F8 key repeatedly until start menu comes up. Choose safe mode and when login screen appears choose " administrator" account instead of either the accounts you created, use the password to log on as administrator than go to control panel user accounts and check you settings
Hi Neil, I understand your concern. If i were you i would buy a small external webcam which is available for laptops. There are two reasons for that. First of all, if you take it to the Acer repair center, they will charge you a huge amount (since it is not in warranty). Second thing is that the lead which you are talking about is practically impossible to get other than from their manufacturer.
go to start, type in webcam on the start search menu, then it should show up then click it and you have your webcam, if that dont work then insert the drivers and utilitys and serch for the webcam drivers and instal them.
press alt+F10 at acer logo displayed at first screen
you will directed to acer erecovery management
at acer erecovery management chose restore to factory setting
then follow the instruction until finish
You need to download the drivers for your webcam for windows Vista. Go here and choose your computer. In the right box, choose Acer Orbicam (logitech). That is the vista driver. Download and install it. There you go :c)
