Re: Samsung Microwave MW 1040WC 800 Watts

The "Handy Helper" pad may be sticking, indicating a failing keypad. That pad will cause the display to read "A-1". I would suggest unplugging the oven from the wall for a few minutes, then plugging it back in. If it still has a problem, you may need a new keypad, which can be had here: If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: Post back here if you need more help. If you don't have the owner's manual, you can download it here:

My is working with slow with out pressing any time

BASICALLY, the microwave works using magnetron for generating the MICROWAVE signal.
So if your system is slow the wave generated for any amount of power input and time will be less .This may be due to fault in your timing circuitry.
your MW became time independent,so the proplem lies there.

How many watts does Emerson MW8675W Microwave have?

Is the cubic foot size of the microwave on the name plate?? It seems that with Emerson the size relates closely to the wattage .. 0.9 cu ft is 900 watts, 1.1 cu ft is 1000 watts .. 0.7 cu ft is 700watts .. That would be the closest info I can get.

Starts up then after 1 sec shuts down and ask for the time and date and to be reset

You've got a failed magnetron. After it engages it's leaks microwaves (radio frequencies) into the control area behind the touchpad and scrambles the IC board in there. It'll have to be replaced.

Here's the thing... MW ovens should NEVER be repaired by untrained people... lurking inside is a high voltage capacitor that stores up to 2,500 volts DC and is just waiting for someone to make the wrong move. When the wrong move is made, the cap discharges all 2,500 volts in a fraction of a second. At best it'll just knock you out... at worst you'll be a few days in the Hospital.

OK, all the gruesome stuff is said... now for the good news. GE places a 10 year warranty on their magnetrons! So here's what you do... Call around to some appliance repair companies and get quotes for installing an over-the-range MW magnetron (labor only 'cause you'll supply the magnetron) and go with the cheapest. Then you call GE customer support at 1-800-GE-CARES and provide them with the model and serial number for you machine (it's on a sticker inside the cavity). Then tell them that your MW was diagnosed with a failed magnetron and ask them to send one to you free of charge. They might give you some lip about "only an authorized GE repair guy blah, blah, blah", if they do that just tell them that you already have an installer for it (GE factory guy's aren't cheap, btw) and if "you won't ship it to me, let me speak to your superviser". They'll send it to ya, I've done it a thousand times.

After the magnetron arrives at your doorstep, call the repair company and get them to come out and install it. There ya go!

p.s. Please heed my warning above.

CLOCK > 1 > 2 > 3 > START

CLOCK > CLEAR > 1 > 2 > 3 > START

Sanyo EM-G2585W 800 Watts Microwave Oven

It's possible that the unit is overheating, and shutting itself down to make sure that it doesn't melt or burn. Do you have it against a wall, or in a cabinet where the unit cannot vent? Is there a fan? Is it working? --j.
