Sounds like you damaged the card slot, this is not a home repair.

SOURCE: Unlocking memory card

http://www.pentax.de/downloads/photo/uk/Optio%2060/Optio60_Manual_web.pdf

pg 17 at the bottom shows how to unlock the card, but it is simple, take out the memory card and on the side of it will be a little tab which can slide, slide it off the lock position and it should work

SOURCE: 4gb Memory card error

In order to use 4gb memory your camera has to be approve for SDHC use.

If it isn't the most memory you can put into your camera is 2 gb

SOURCE: Pentax Optio 60

Largest card for the Optio 60 is 2GB. The camera is not able to take 4GB and larger SDHC type cards. If I answered the question to your satisfaction, don't forget to rate it. Thanks

Memory card error

Hi. It sounds like the pins are bent. Use a flashlight to see IG you can see them. If they are bent, try and use something flat to push back into place. If not you may have to send it in for service.

Just bought a used Pentax Optio 750Z online. Am trying to use 2GB San Disk Memory Card. Camera will not accept it. Monitor reads.."Memory Card Error". Is 2GB too much capacity? Is camera...

Is it a SDHC card? SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but many cameras won't work with the SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

You could try formatting the card. There is a function in the camera menus to do this. If it won't format then it may simply be too high capacity. It is often difficult to find out the maximum capacity a camera will use, as today's memory cards are much larger that those available when the manuals for even recent cameras were written.

Pentax Optio MX4 won't read my new SDHC 4gb

Does the camera work with any other card? Was the card formatted in the camera? Some cards from some manufacturers just don't work in some cameras.

Mac drivers for 750z

Oh, there's no problem. I don't have an Optio 750z, but I do have an Optio 30 and it's older. Just tested with an iBook G4 that I just have installed Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.2 in. When the camera is attaced and turned on, iPhoto will open automatically and you have the option of import the images to your computer - you can also mark the "Delete images from the camera". The camera will also appear on the Finder desktop as a removable disc. So, seems to be no need for extra software.
