Question about Samsung RF265ABBP (25.8 cu. ft.) Bottom Freezer French Door Refrigerator

1 Answer

I have a Samsung RF265ABBP model. I just finished replacing the ice maker kit and everything works fine. I noticed Ice build up on the left side of the sliding door. It builds up on the fridge itself and correspondingly on the sliding door...about 1" wide and 8" long. Is this a bad gasket problem?

Could be a gasket problem. But, also on those sliding doors, ice can cause them to not properly close all the way! Pull the door all the way open and check the track/rails for ANY ice. Make sure it is completely free of ice!

SOURCE: SAMSUNG RS253BAWW NOT WORKING

the ice maker wont cycle untill the temp of the ice is around 10 degrees so if the freezer is at 15 or 20 due to some other malfunction then you will see the maker full of ice but it wont harvest and make another batch. so you could have a sensor bad, control malfunction, refrigeration issue, compressor, defrost system malfunction(you mentioned ice build up)

SOURCE: loud noise from the freezer side

The problem is a buildup of ice on the plastic housing (the curved plastic bit) in the back of the freezer under the fixed shelf where the icetub goes. The fan behind this plastic housing is hitting the ice when the defrost comes on.

Unplug the fridge, unpack the freezer, remove the four screws in the back, take off the sheetmetal backing and let the fridge thaw. You can remove the plastic piece after a while and get the ice off (be careful not to remove the styrofoam insulation by going too quickly).

Reassemble and you're back in business, for a few months. I'm never buying Samsung again myself.

SOURCE: my samsung side by side giving me problems

Heya, I am pretty sure this is the samsing model that has an external condensor coil. You should try Unpluging your unit, see if the condensor coil is covered in yuck, it sounds weird that you have ice on the fridge side and not alot on the freezer side. Have a look and if its not that It prolly would be best to get someone out to have a look before replacing parts.

Hope this helps

I need you to confirm your model number. Is MZD2665HE correct? The problem is very likely a broken 12565502 Dispenser Door Spring or more providing you have the correct model number. There may be a kit if the model number is different. Thanks, John Tripp Appliance 911

Ice maker doesn't work well

We have only had our refrigerator a little over a year and have already had to have the ice maker replaced 2 times. The second one isn't working much better than the previous one or even the one that came on it from the manufacturer. Each time we have had it replaced, we have gone through Samsung and they have sent someone out to replace. Why do these refrigerators not produce much ice?

you could have several problems.

Since you mentioned your ice maker not working right - first check to see if your ice maker is hot (be carefull it can burn you if it is hot) - it is possible for an ice maker to hang in the heat cycle of the cycle producing excessive heat in the freezer. If this is the case unplug the ice maker and/ or just replace it.

The refrigerator gets it cold from the freezer so if the freezer is not working right, you'll soon notice it in the refrigerator side.

You can also check to make sure the evaporator fan motor is running(in the freezer) and the condenser motor(at the compressor) as well.

Also check the back panel of the freezer for excessive frost build up.

Icemaker won't fill tray,

Was the inlet tube frozen. If so your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking and when the water reaches the freezer it freezes, blocking the inlet tube. Replace the water inlet valve.
You can Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.
