Hotpoint SHY23X Oven Door Buffers

To reinstall the glass door buffers on your Hotpoint oven model ShY23X, you can follow these steps:
  1. Gather the necessary materials: Make sure you have the glass door buffers and any accompanying screws or fasteners required for installation.
  2. Identify the correct position: Take a close look at the oven door and identify the areas where the glass door buffers should be installed. Typically, there will be corresponding holes or slots on the oven door where the buffers fit.
  3. Align the buffers: Hold one glass door buffer in your hand and align it with the corresponding hole or slot on the oven door. The buffer should fit snugly into place.
  4. Secure the buffer: Once the buffer is aligned properly, insert any screws or fasteners through the designated holes on the oven door to secure the buffer in place. Use a screwdriver or appropriate tool to tighten the screws, ensuring the buffer is firmly attached.
  5. Repeat for the other buffer: Follow the same process to install the second glass door buffer on the opposite side of the oven door. Align it with the corresponding hole or slot, insert the screws or fasteners, and tighten them to secure the buffer.
  6. Test the door: After both buffers are securely installed, gently close and open the oven door to ensure it operates smoothly. Make sure the door closes completely and the glass door buffers are providing the desired cushioning and support.

What is the chain on the side of my grill for? Kenmore Grill with 100% Infrared Cooking System Sold by Sears | Sears Item# 07116650000 | Model# 464222209

I have either the same grill, or one very similar (Kenmore infrared grill) and just assembled it yesterday and had the same question! I don't believe it's a safety chain. It hangs from the left front corner of the main grill body, and it has some sort of curled wire thingy on the end of the chain. The chain is definitely not thick enough to secure the grill. I looked through the assembly instructions a few times and could not find reference to what it's for. Any other ideas?

I have a arrow oven and when i plug it in and turn the socket on the oven turns on even tho the oven is in the zero position

Most likely the fastening screws on your knob might have come loose and shifted position. Turn the knob anticlockwise i.e.towards left of "0" position and see whether it will move. If it does, then your knob is loose. If the knob does not use a fastening screw, then the spring clip/the center hole of the knob is enlarged resulting in the knob shifting position. Replace the knob.

Oven and burners won't work

First check your breakers, then the wiring from the receptacle to the back of the oven. Check to see if the wires are properly fastened inside the plug itself. Now, in the back of the oven with the back panel off, see it the wires are properly fastened to the connection box. This is probably where your problem is. Re-attach and this should make everything fine. If you wish, you can me at 803 463 5567 and we talk your way through it.

Oven top heating element not working

Hi Max447, For safety Reasons you should cut off the power at the Circuit breaker. Test the oven to see if you can turn it on before working on it. Nothing tough about removing the element. Open the door and remove the racks to give yourself room. Where the element connects to the wall, remove the fasteners, and pull the element out. To test the element. Use a Volt ohm Meter, and measure for resistance from terminal to Terminal. you should see at least 10 ohms. Check from Terminal to the metal of the elements to see if the element is grounded to the casing. You should not read resistance here, it should read infinite.
