If it is a wireless-and it is-on the bottom of the mouse is a tiny button that says connect...hit it. Now that being said, if it is not on the mouse look on the transmitter part for that same little button to reconnect.
that should do it ,,,good luck...have fun

Acer Aspire 3000 model was working great then the mouse froze tired of messing with it reinstalled os xp tried fn-f7 nothing now when your reinstalling os it works fine i would download drivers but I can't...

never let a machine defeat you
you did not say if it is PS 2 or USB mouse?
if PS2 go to MY COMPUTER, PROPERTIES,HARDWARE< DEVICE MGR, scroll down to MOUSE, then PROPERTIES, UNCHECK the box FAST INITIALIZATION
REBOOT. PS 2 mouse should work.
if USB mouse, scroll down to USB ports to see if there are any YELLOW check boxes under USB
this means no device is loaded and USB mouse (or anything else you insert) will not work.
click uninstall, SCAN, and let it reinstall.
try another mouse... hope you get cheese!
