Unable to connect to the proxy server A proxy

Unable to connect to the proxy server A proxy server is a server that acts as an intermediary between your computer and other servers. Right now, your system is configured to use a proxy, but Web Freer can't connect to it. Here are some suggestions: If you use a proxy server, check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server, adjust your proxy settings: Go to the wrench menu > Settings > Show advanced settings... > Change proxy settings... > LAN Settings and deselect the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" checkbox. Error 130 (net::ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED): Proxy server connection failed

This is a brain-dead system default setting from Microsoft. If your company/network requires you to use a proxy server, they can make it happen invisibly to you. There is nothing wrong with turning it off except that your connection might slow down if there is a proxy on your network and you don\'t use it. Proxy can cache (save recent pages) and/or restrict your access (filter porn sites). Filtering should be invisible or not configurable by users. The MS default is just plain wrong.

The ability to switch to a new IP address gives you finer grain control over your web identity: you can start a fresh, independent browsing session any time you like. It also makes our service more reliable: if one IP is down, just connect through another. Private proxies is the website which can help you to connect with the random servers safely.

SOURCE: Error 130 (net::ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED):

Do you normally use a Proxy??? If not, then yes, it's most likely a virus that sets proxy settings, directing all your network traffic through the hacker's proxy. There, they capture all your internet traffic including login IDs and passwords.
If you have no idea how long this has been going on, then they have all your information already. Hacker proxies get shut down fairly quickly, hence the error you are seeing now. However, the damage may be done already.
Do a full virus scan, then go to all your online sites and change all the passwords - soon!

What is the difference between VPN-connection and Proxy websites?

While both a Proxy and VPN service will re-route your internet traffic and change your IP, they function slightly differently.
Think of a Proxy as a Web Filter. The proxy settings are applied to your internet browser whether you're using MSIE, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Etc. When browsing the internet through a proxy server, all benefits with that server are used, for example, (Security, Speed, and Geographic Location). The proxy will only secure traffic via the internet browser using the proxy server settings.
Unlike a Proxy, a VPN service provider(Virtual Private Network) encrypts all of your traffic, replacing your ISP and routing ALL traffic through the VPN server, including all programs and applications. This also will use all benefits of the VPN server such as (Speed, Geopgraphic Location, and Security).
The VPN can be easily connected or disconnected with the click of a button.
In conclusion, a proxy server is completely browser based, and is not as compatible with certain web pages that use non-browser technology such as: Comedy Central,Zatoo, Fox OD, and Sky Player. However, a VPN will work with ALL internet based services, but will offer less choice on which applications will get run through your ISP, as with the VPN, everything is routed through that server when connected.
So, you can get VPN services from sources like HideMyAss, Super VPN, etc., Once you have enabled a VPN service, you can visit IP-Details.com and have an IP lookup to ensure the change in your IP address.

I can't get my LAN settings to automatically detect settings, box will not check.

Reset your proxy settings
Proxy servers, or proxies, act as intermediary servers between a Web browser and the Internet. According to Microsoft's website, proxies are mainly used by networks in companies to enhance the security and speed of their network connection.
Proxy servers can also be used to log Internet usage, mask the network address of a server or to apply global restrictions to a network.
Internet Explorer is set to automatically detect proxy servers by default.
You can reset the Internet Explorer proxy settings to their default settings from the "Internet Options" configuration.

I have found the easiest way to do this is to add the menu to the top of a webpage.
Create the menu tab on your homepage right click in the top toolbar you should see a number of toolbar options select the menu tab which will add File Edit View Favorites Tools and Help
Click on tools option then from the drop down list Internet Options
Select the "Connections" tab, and click the "LAN Settings" button.
Delete the proxy server address and port from the "Proxy Server" settings and clear the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" check box.

Clear the check box beside the "Automatically detect settings" and "Use automatic configuration script" options in the "Automatic Configuration" section of the "LAN Settings" dialog window. Click "OK."
Click "Apply" and then "OK" to save these changes and close the "Internet Options" dialog window.
Close all Internet Explorer browser windows for these changes to take effect.

Use a Proxy Server

Proxy servers are useful tools that act as intermediaries between your computer and the websites you visit. When you can't visit a blocked site directly, you can ask a proxy server to visit it for you. The proxy displays the blocked website, and allows you to interact with it. Since you are communicating directly with the proxy--not with the restricted site--the communication isn't blocked. Many free proxy services are available, but I suggest you start with HMA. An alternative, Anonymouse, has a similar feel. Here's how to use such a service:
1. Go the website for the proxy service, type the URL of the site you wish to unblock, and press Enter.
2. Browse the restricted site as you normally would. Notice that the address bar of your browser displays the proxy service's domain, indicating that you are browsing anonymously.
Keep in mind that free proxy servers will sometimes slow down your browsing, or fail to display Web pages properly. Also, take note that although the two free proxies suggested here do not bombard you with advertisements and pop-ups, plenty of proxy services do.

Unblock you tbe.com

You can use any proxy server to browse YouTube if it has been blocked in your region. Am external proxy server could mask your real IP address with a fake IP address. Hence using an external proxy is the best option for you to browse YouTube.com. You can ensure that your IP address is masked by having an IP lookup from www.IP-Details.Com Good luck mate.

What is proxy

Hi liverpool97.
Let me explain you about the Proxy servers.
In Computer Networks, a Proxy Server is a Server (a Computer system or an application program) that acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers.
A client connects to the proxy server, requesting some service, such as a file, connection, web page, or other resource, available from a different server.
The proxy server evaluates the request according to its filtering rules.
For example, it may filter traffic by IP address or protocol. If the request is validated by the filter, the proxy provides the resource by connecting to the relevant server and requesting the service on behalf of the client.
A proxy server may optionally alter the client's request or the server's response, and sometimes it may serve the request without contacting the specified server.
In this case, it 'caches' responses from the remote server, and returns subsequent requests for the same content directly.
Hope this helps.
Please let me know if you need further information about the Proxy servers.
I'll be glad to assist you.

A proxy server has a large variety of potential purposes, including:
1: To keep machines behind it anonymous (mainly for security.
2: To speed up access to resources (using caching). Web proxies are commonly used to cache web pages from a web server.
3: To apply access policy to network services or content, e.g. to block undesired sites
4: To log / audit usage, i.e. to provide company employee Internet usage reporting
5: To bypass security/ parental controls
