my paper wont  feed through either all of sudden. after seeing that other people are experiencing this sudden malfunction i called dell demanding a resolution for this internal issue, even though i am an out of warranty customer.  i have friends with the sam printer that have been working fine i don't think any of us should have to pay for a replacement because of this, especially if thats the only issue concerning your printer. if you think about it, if you were to send back your malfunctioning printer it would be gold for creating refurbished products, meaning that it still has some value to it and should not be considered a lost cause. good luck with your issue i know i'll be fighting it until i am truly a satisfied dell customer.

warrenty is out. feels great to think you're getting a great packaged deal, then you get dooped (specifically the spiffy dell all-in-one 924 InkJet Printer). after the couple of years i wasted buying the overpriced ink, i now understand how idiotic i was to believe the "shelf-life" would possibly supercede---or even coincide with my graduation date. dell is awesome, i think i'll continue buying their false promises. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you get a paper jam error or does in just not feed at the start of the print cycle.

Hey Guys, I had the same exact problem you all did so i did some thinking and finally i gave up and shook the **** out of it and guess what? There was a birthday candle in the paper feeder. Try turning it upside down and shaking it, if theres anything obstructing the papers path, thats whys its been jamming ^.^

Jam on roller

I had many jams using a Kodak printer, but lately I've been fanning the paper, which they may have told me to do, but I didn't know how to do it. Here is a step by step way to do it. Take the stack of paper you plan on using in your printer & straighten it by taking it by each side & tapping it on a surface (like a desk top). Bend the stack of paper as if going to fold it in half. On one side, the stack is fanned out. Grab the paper on the long sides with both hands & slide it into the printer tray. Go ahead & print, I've had fewer jams since loading my paper this way. Give it a try, see if it works for you!!!

The paper feed is screwed up. We tried printing on paper that had already been fed through the printer and a piece got stuck. We think we got that all out but can't be sure b/c we don't know how to fully...

The chances are you have a piece of paper blocking the paper path.
Try tipping the printer with the paper input upside down to see if your can dislodge the offending piece of paper.
Next, try taking a thick piece of paper (double weight or construction paper) and feeding it through to see if you can push the offending piece of paper out.
If these do not clear the problem, let me know and we can look at partially disassembling the printer to clear the path.
Please rate this solution. Thanks.

Paper jam/no paper fed

make sure the photo paper is in glossy side face down,
set the paper type to photo.

If it keeps jamming it's because the paper feed is probably dirty and not taking the paper properly

Printer error shows paper jam at paper tray and printer stops after printing 3 or 4 pages. I open and close the top access and printing resumes for 3 or 4 more pages...stops and shows paper jam at feed...

Try two things:

Fan the paper before placing in the tray.

Raise the humidity in the room to at least 40% to avoid electrostatic sticking of the paper. Store paper in 40% humidity area.

Have you tried cleaning the paper feed roller(s)? Either soap & water OR isopropyl alchohol with a cotton ball will do, just make sure the rollers are dry before trying to print again, otherwise damage to imaging unit (drum/toner unit) could occurr. If the printer doesn't feed in the first place, the printer thinks it has a jammed paper, thus opening paper tray and front cover resets misfeed/ jam condition. Let me know your progress....Tim

Printer keeps reading paper jam

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this, is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

Paper jam R240

A qualified - manufacturer certified servicer is needed here. Your are correct, the missing piece is still inside and also, yanking-out a paper (while it is being fed by the printer) will have a definite damage on the paper-feeding mechanism.

In-warranty or not - u need to call the manufacturer.

MP470, Paper jam on one side

There is something jammed in there....shake it upside down first.....if nothing then revese feed a paper through it manually......take left side off hold paper in front and roll wheel on the left side so the paper feeds back into the machine,,,,,,open top to see in there and when paper feeds under white rollers make sure it dosent jam where wite rollers are about an inch from the right there is a small rectangle hole with a black plastic piece in there pry it up carfullywith a paper clip and feed paper with the wheel under it at that point the paper push out a bobby pin into my back tray,,,,, now everything works great.......keep checking i didn't believe something was there either but there was..... also if your paper first starts to feed and stops pull out the paper and check for a bend or crinp in it mine kept doing that and that is exactly where the pin finally came out.....
