My samsung mp3 player (yp-t9) cannot be recognized by my computer. it will charge, but i can't put on or take songs off of it. i have tried everything I can think of. when i plug it in and try to refresh the player, it says "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." help!

On my YP-T9 I choose format and it deletes everything. Of course, I don't use it for pictures, videos, etc. You can format it either with WMP, Samsung Media Studio, or Windows Explorer. Only takes a couple minutes -- in fact, it's a lot faster than deleting the songs via WMP Sync.
