sorry buddy you cant unlock a ps2 to play pirated games. but depending on what kind of ps2 you have you can modify it to play your copied games if it is a fat ps2 you will need to buy a modchip for it or if you have a slim ps2 like mine all you have to do is order some swap magic discs at modchip.ca or .com then modify your slime line with a fliptop cover or the cheap free way is to use the tape and tissue mod that i use( just google tape and tissue mod) i play all my copied games and they work just fine. you can even play the classics such as sega genesis or supernes. afterdawn.com is an awsome website for all your ps2 modding needs it has all the guides from burning games to modding your ps2
^^ hoped tht helps
You can "chip" the ps2 to play pirated games.
Try a local area internet search for people offering the "chipping" service.
It is usually pretty cheap ( i found 4 people within 30kms of me offering to do it for under $50 )
Depends on what you want. Note that modifying your PS2 in any way voids your warranty. Original PS2's I'm not so sure about. It involves opening the console, though, and I'm sure you can find a video on youtube if you look for it. But since you can't do any modification that won't involve a modchip, you'd better be prepared to solder a chip on there.
Slim PS2's you have a better variety of options. Tissue/Tape mod which blocks two censors and the disc brake, allowing you to use the Swap Trick or get good use out of a Swap Disc.
If you get a swaptool, or make one, you can do this on both the original PS2 and the slimline PS2.
Look up Free_MCBoot, and have an empty memory card ready. Either use the swap trick or use Swap Magic to install the memory card exploit. It'll contain ESR, which allows you to play burned games.
But there will be no support for your piracy, either. Not from the makers of Free_MCBoot, or the modchip makers, or even myself.
they is many ways i did try most of them at the start...
i went through like 5 ps2's :-O i tryied chips, cd's, software, hacking power packs. honestly it just is not worth it, they alll good for like a month or 2 but then it just crashes, over heats etc. for the price of games now might as well just stick with the originals
Originally your PS2 is preventing copied games and other formats like "PAL" (even though it is a orginal disc). There is an alternating way to play copied discs and all other. You need to get modify you PS2. contact this website www.swapmagic3.com you will find the right device.
It is possible to play popular formats of dvd but it will screw up your laser.
You can use this as well(do at your own risk):
There is a new (not released yet) DivX/Xvid player for PS2. The article is in Spanish. You can read it here (http://www.idg.es/pcworld/divxps2.asp).
