SOURCE: Play CD deck through pc

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Yes, it is possible. The Cambridge CD4 deck would be an external signal source of the sound card of the computer. Basically, the R/L Audio OUTPUT of the deck would be connected to the AUX or LINE IN of the PC. A RCA to stereo 3.5mm plug would be needed similar to what is shown below.

Thereafter, enable the AUX/LINE IN in both playback and recording modes of the Volume Control Properties.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Cd is stuck inside i have unplugged & plugged and pressed eject & power at the same time

Some CD players have a tiny hole on the door or tray that slides out. Stick a paperclip in the hole and it will release the tray. Yours may not have this, but it has to have some manual way of opening.

I cannot open my cambridge audio 640A compact disc

This is a common issue with all belt-drive cd players, all you have to do is to change that belt and you should be done, or take it to a shop for servicing, as this is a part of a simple service maintenance routine, cheap fix though.

The 840c tray does not slide out.

Probably a worn belt in the drawer mechanism. A competent tech should be able to fix.

My cambridge cd player 640c not able to close and keep opening, any advice?

Unless you are an experienced tech, you should let a pro look at this unit. It may be a mechanical fault, or a logic control problem. Cambridge makes excellent sounding CD players, so I think they warrant spending money to repair them properly. Attempts by inexperienced owners can greatly increase the repair cost.

Connection of ipod touch with Cambridge Audio 840A

Get a 2.5 mm stereo cable to dual RCA ( phono plugs)
Radio shack or Walmart will have them.
Connect it to the aux or CD input in the rear of the amp.
