I have a hunter 29185 remote control and the connector on the 9v battery broke off. Can it be repaired?

Yes... absolutely.

Your handy dandy electronics store... used to be Radio Shack..
That (real) old garage door opener in the bottom drawer...
any snap set that has the matching black/red connecter wires...

Red to red
black to black... a little heat shrink tube and some solder and you are back in business...
.
God luck.

1989 acura legend will not crank over after replacing alternator and battery

May not have been the alternator , check the main relay module , may need to re solder the connections. Its under the dash on the left side
of the steering column , its a little hard to see and get out but the connections often burn through the solder and present problems such as this that mimic a fuel supply problem .

How do i reset a remote control model no YCT-100 which switchs on my legend electric fire

reset the remote: undo the Philips screw on the back and prize ip the circuit board, then turn it over, keeping the battery in place. There is a slide switch on the back; move it all the way to the left, pause, then all the way to the right, pause again (10 seconds) then move it about a third of the way to the left until it drops into a dent. Carefully reassemble, keeping the battery in place. If this doesn't work, you probably need a new circuit board (receiver) in the fire.

Replaced CR2032 battery in my pacificas keyless remote but it still wont work. I did not drop nor did water hit the remote. Was working fine one minute then died

First thing to do is check with your local Dodge dealer and see if the keyless remote is still under warranty. I had this same problem with a Dodge Durango Keyless remote. Problem was the + and - neg. connecters from battery to circuit board broke the solder connection going to the small circuit panel in the keyless remote, if this is the problem with yours, go the Radio Shack and buy a small 15watt soldering iron and solder for PC circuit boards and resolder it and it should fix the problem. If this did not fix it, the only thing to do is buy a new remote at your local Dodge dealer

The battery attachment for the 9V battery broke. One of the clips that attaches to the battery broke off when I was trying to take the battery out to replace it. Is there a way to add a new 9V battery...

if you are a bit handy, you can by replacement 9v packs/adapters that you can solder or wire nut on. Depending on what type of remote you have, it might be more economical to by a new one. the packs are ready available on eBay.

Hi broke the usb connection can it repaired

You can repair this problem yourself by simply re-soldering the USB port back on. If you feel uncomfortable doing this kind of repair, you can check on Ebay. Search on "Repair Harmony Remote". There are some folks who do certain repairs for reasonable prices. If you don't see something specifically for USB repair, ask the seller! Good luck!

Remote keyless intermittent function

I had the same problem. If your car is still under warranty, simply go to the dealer and have the keyless entry remotes replaced. If your car is not under warranty and you do not want to fork over the hefty fee for new remotes, you should be able to repair them yourself.

If you open your keyless remotes, you will likely find that the contacts which hold the battery in place have come unsoldered. Basically, the problem lies in the fact that Daimler/Chrysler used a cold soldering method when adhering the battery contact to the circuit board in some of these remotes. Under normal wear, these cold soldered contacts will eventually bust loose.

In order to repair the remote(s), you will need a soldering iron and solder.

1)Remove the screw from the back of the remote. Pry apart the two halves of the remote using a dime or penny.

2)Remove the circuit board, placing it battery side up. Remove the battery.

3)Carefully place the battery holders contact pins back into their respective holes.

4)Take care to put a small amount of solder on each of the loose contact pins. Put a small bead in both the back and front of each contact pin.

5)Replace the battery and put the circuit board back into the remote. Test to make sure the remote is functioning properly, then snap the back of the remote on and replace the screw.

Don't thank me, credit for how to repair this issue goes to 'Sodapop' from custommagnums.com.

If I remember correctly,on the switch itself, each connector is letter coded.'W' for white,'R' for red,and so forth. The manual mostly talks about how to change attachments and basic operating, but not repairs.

Faulty Remote

Same thing happened to mine. I opened the remote and found that the springy wire that connects the negative (-) end of the AA batteries to the remote broke off. I soldered it back together and it works now. Soldering it back together was VERY tricky because the two ends were at a 45 degree angle to each other. It took a lot of patience and a steady hand.
