Kitchenaid superba27: The clock display was working just fine, until I re positioned the unit and it went out. I have opened the top panel and I test that there is power coming in to the board, but disply remains off/dead. Is there a fuse or something that I can check?

SOURCE: Whirpool double oven shutdown during self cleaning operation and now is completely dead and the top oven door will not open.

Too bad someone didn't answer this sooner. Caused be poor air circulation in the unit. There is indeed a thermal fuse used in this unit. This problem has been around for a while and no real solution has been found. The closest "fix" is to remove the fuse, turn it around and only hook it down with the screw that faces the panel. The other screw hole is then bent to a 45 degree upward slant. This give the fuse a little breathing room.

It sounds as if the electronic clock/timer has failed and needs replacing. If you don't use the timer and don't need the clock it can be bypassed so that the oven will still work. A repair person should be able to do this fairly easily.

Kitchenaid double digital convection conversion oven keypad went out. Any ideas on the problem. Electric panel circuit breakers are okay. Sharon C.

I think these use the same controller board as the Jenn-air units, they have a weak capacitor (C3) on the control board (Timer/control Display). Remove the top panel and look for a discolored or leaking capacitor (usually black about 1/2" high 3/8" in accross). Replace the capacitor and the problem goes away, until next time you use the self clean cycle which seems to overheat the control board and ruin the capacitor.

Kenmore stove oven does not shut off

Wow, this post is going to be extremely late. Actually, I was able to get a new control unit for my Kenmore gas range from Sears Parts Dirext for $156.06. That includes shipping and tax. The burners work without it. We just cannot use the oven until the new board comes in. It's very easy to replace. Remove the panel screws on the back (just the top) and you have access to unplug the unit and remove the 4 screws holding the assembly in.

Turn the knob to the left until a tone is heard and "time" appears in the display window. The previously set time will appear in the display window.

Continue turning the time knob in either direction until the correct time of day appears in the display window
