Question about Casio FX991MS Scientific Calculator

1 Answer

Date on Canon MP11DX calculator keeps randomly changing overnight. I've reset it to the correct date four times in the last two weeks, but every morning I come back to work and the date has changed to a completely different month and date.

If the Canon MP11DX has a backup battery, it may be spent, and it should be replaced with a fresh one.

I checked and it uses AC power. Then maybe during the night, you have some disturbabces in the power line and the power may have gone out and the system date gets reset.

How to reset the clock?

Push the button with the clock and calendar, this is directly over the 'cost' button, to display the date or time. Then use the 'Time set' button (this is the one for Memory - Plus - Equal). Hold the 'Time set' button down until the first figure blinks then release it. Use the number buttons to change the setting. When you have gotten the correct date or time entered oress the 'Time Set' button again.

Although it is only printed with 'Time Set' the button works for the date just as well.

I played around with mine and found the keys that you change the time and date with by looking over the top of the keyboard. On my model there is a time and date key that has a little calendar and clock actually on the key. That key allows you to switch between date and calendar. After you click on that button you will either see a date or time. To change those numbers use the following keys: The equal (=) key will change date and time by holding the key down till the numbers on the display start to flash. Once they start to flash use the number keys to make your changes. The multiplication (X) key you can use to change am and pm. If you want military time use the division key. If you are changing the date there is an additional key that lets you change the format. What this means is the sequence on the display by the way you view the month, date and year. You can change it so year shows first then month and date or interchange day and month. Once I found those keys it was easy.
