I had same problem with my Pioneer SD-533hd5 where it turn itself off immediately after I turned it on. This was after several weeks of the TV randomly cycling itself off then back on. Mostly the I noticed the power cycling in the morning after the TV had been off all night. Didn't seem to occur much once the TV has been awhile.

After reading the excellent advise provided by guest, I found the middle 4amp fuse in the middle circuit board was blown. Replaced the fuse and now it's working. But several self resets occurred after powering it up and I noticed some green distortion as it was resetting. So now I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. Somewhere on this forum I read a post from someone who replaced the fuse several times then finally found the green was totally distorted. They replaced an IC chip for a permanent fix. I need to find that post and be ready for some soldering I guess.

You are making a terrible decision to put a bigger fuse in where its not needed. If the scematic states it needs 4 amp then u go wtih that.. before you end up blowing up something else you need to take it to a tech and get it looked at cause you obviously dont understand basic circuitry if you need a picture to find a fuse.. Sorry but you could seriously hurt yourself.

Theres 3 boards on the bottom inside of tv. The middle circuit board has 3 small fuses toward the center of the board. Just pop those fuses out and look for the 1 that is broken or burnt. Taken the bad fuse to radio shack and get replacement. Very easy repair.

Pioneer SD-533HD5 53 in. Rear Projection HDTV Television - Need Manual ....

ManualsLib has the manual for the SD-533HD5 here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/384249/Pioneer-Sd-643hd5.html . (The manual covers two models.) Once you modify the picture parameters (starting from STD, REF THEATER, GAME), these are stored as the User mode. If you press Menu when done changing the parameters, that input should maintain the User settings for the last setting until you change the Picture type. If you modified the parameters for STD and then return to that input and change the Picture to GAME, any modifications to the GAME picture parameters will become the new User Mode. See page 50 of the manual for the details: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/384249/Pioneer-Sd-643hd5.html?page=50#manual .

I hope this helps.

My pioneer sd-533hd5 is 8-9 years old. how do i clean the lanses?

You should be able to access it from the back panel. After you remove the panel, the lenses should be mounted on a platform. If you are careful, you can manuever yourself in far enough to clean the inside of the display screen. Good luck!

Power problem (switches to standby)

its the problem of the ics on the main power supply board

Do the IC heat sinks get warm??

If they do not, check fuses F852 - 2AMP, F853 - 1.25AMP, F850 & F851 - ALL 5AMP on the power deflection pcb. THESE ARE NOT GLASS FUSES. They are usually about the size of a 1 watt resistor and either green or orange in color. They are soldered in. The nomenclature is printed on the component side of the board. They are all about centered on the opposite edge of the PCB as the high voltage transformer.

If you have cleaned up the mess you describe you most likely have one of these fuses blown.

if dont have any technical knowledge its advisable to call a technician as it is worth getting it fixed.

thanks.
