Question about Panasonic PT-56DLX75 56" HDTV

1 Answer

I own a Panasonic Plasma TV, Model TH-50PX25. When the TV is powered up the screen does not come on. The power light blinks 12 times and then stays steady for a few seconds. It repeats this sequence over and over (12 blinks then steady). I had a repair man come out from Sears, the store that I bought the TV from, and he told me that a power supply board needed to be replaced. He gave me the part number in which I ordered the board. The part number is TXNPA1UHSU. I removed the original board and replaced it with the one that I ordered. This did not resolve the problem. The same thing still occurs. What is the problem and how do I repair it. Thanks. Gene Carr.

Hi Wcarr001,
I don't guess there is any other problem. Usually, whenever you see 12 blinks, no screen when you turn on the plasma, that confirms defective power supply.
Are you sure that even the new power supply board is  not at fault and you have fixed it properly.Usually this situation occurs when you have bad capacitors. Most require a star screwdriver.Look for bulging caps in power supply board. (3300uf 10v ) caps need to be replaced with 3300uf 16v. Identify the bad caps.... Caps are bad when they are bulged/bulged and raised. A good Cap is flat X top not raised or buldged.Caps cost abywhere from 1-2 dollars or you can buy them in lots of 10 or 12 on ebay for around 8 bucks. Caps need to be soldered on. Do it yourself (if confortable) or take it to a tech/pc repair shop in your local area. Do do that unplug all the wire harness from the board and unscrew the boarda nd take to your teck to solder on the new caps.
You can fix this for about 20 bucks if you have someone else solder or 40 cents if you buy the caps on ebay and replace the 2 bad ones yourself. If one is bad and the other is not replace them both.

The caps go bad because they need to be a higher voltage. 10 insn't enough..... 16 is plenty and don't go any higher than that.

As you already purchased the new board, check the new board with the help of a voltmeter. If you wish you can also call a tech to check the board. You can also check the other connections.
Note - Make sure you have requested the correct board. On the board, the part number would be engraved.
I hope this would help you.
Thanks for using Fixya.

I have a panasonic TH-50PX25--Power light flashes and tv won't power up

Start with an inspection of the power supply board itself, look for puffy caps or damaged parts.

My panasonic model #TH-50PX75U wont turn on, it powers up but the led light stay on not blinks any time.

Unplug the power cord. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, repeat. Plug it back in and try to turn it on.
If this doesn't work, it would be time to call in a repair tech. Is the TV still under warranty? Extended warranty?

Unfortunately your going to have to have it serviced by an Authorized Panasonic Dealer. Independent shops will not be authorized to order parts without the consent of Panasonic. They are rough to deal with.

Power light blinking 2 times

2 blinks means the unit is having problem with 12 volt supply.
while power on you can check 12DC on power supply before shutdown.if the voltage is constant before shut down I would recommend to replace D board.
