Mitsubishi WT-46809 HD TV Projection

Recently my tv started to switch from vibrant color to a bleached out picture once it changes to bleached out it usually stays that way until you turn it off and back on. I have tried playing with all the settings to no avail. I would like to fix this problem myself if I could does anyone know what would cuase this problem?

Why pay for internet advice when I can put that towards actually having a repair man come to my house.

  • asenna Oct 03, 2007

Well given your display of knowledge, I think I made a wise choice. $299.95 for a repair man! Hah, try $85 to come to your house and diagnose the problem. All I would get here is a diagnosis, and then it may not even be correct given you can not physically see or touch my tv besides there are other resources on the internet where I can get opinions for free. So lets see you are charging almost 12% of what it would cost to get a absolute diagnosis and potentially have the problem fixed on the spot, One can never be sure if the internet diagnosis is actually correct. So now lets see your estimate was 3.5 times greater than actual cost for repairman diagnosis, if this is the accuracy I can expect from this service then odds of getting an accurate diagnosis must not be that great. HMMM Math Complete...I choose NO DOUGH FOR U! I would be surprised if this post remains up for all to see.

I can not seem to adjust my WT-46809 to get red. For example the color of Tiger Wood's shirt on Sunday was red it was black. How do I solve this?

Well One reason being only 9.95 here and 299.95 for the actual repairman, you do the MATH!

  • Lashawn Robinson Oct 04, 2007

Well Sir, seeing you seem upset, I will say with the little Knowledge I have that it is not about the Dough with me. I am happy that you got your set fixed for only $85. But what you would have gotten for the 9.95 we spoke of was this: White raster with no signal, washed out looking video with signal. Access the service menu, "menu 0157" use the audio button to select "video chroma" adjustments, use the video button to select item "68 - AG1", use the adjust button to change the setting to 0, then press the enter button to store the change. See with the little knowledge I have from working on sets like these for over 20 years, I probably could not help you in the first place.
    Have a nice Day!!

your problem is most probably in convergence circuit.  very common for this model to have convergence output i.c.'s go bad  also possible that a fused resistor or two has failed.

My Tv has red light (color) out of focus..I've tried tuning the lance but it's not the problem in the's something else..don't know you?

Your TV has three picture tubes which are aligned to properly converge the projected light beams on the screen. Each picture tube projects a single color of Blue Green or Red. During production your TV was carefully adjusted to properly align these colors. As a feature you have the ability to adjust these colors.thats called convergence. If you don't have a manual to show you how to adjust you can find one here

Wt-46809 has convergance issues

Replacing the Convergence IC's should do the trick. But it is not a easy repair do to the disassembly requierments. I would recommend calling Mitsubishi at 18003322119 to get a local service facility to come out and give you a estimate to repair.

HD Hookup on Dish Network 2nd Location

In order for you to receive HD broadcasting you must have a HD-TV, otherwise you wont get the picture in HD. Also I should point out that you need to make sure that the signal itself is being broadcast in HD.

Mitsubishi WT-46809 pitcure is gone

your tech didnt know what he was talking about because that model usually only has problems with bad compacitors which is usually a very inexspensive fix however if he replaced the chip he probably replaced the eprong and failed to reprogram I would recomend you getting a service manual for your tv with online free tech support that wll try to help you straighten out this problem because it would be much cheaper than replacing either the board or your tv you may be able to fix this yourself with the tech support or at worse case senerio the tech will be able to get you a new board for a lot less than 500.00
