Open Question

Camera not reading sd card

I insreted the memory card, took a few pics, watched ther camera count down the card, and turned off the camera. When I turned it back on, it would not read the card and would only read the internal memory. I tried going into the format mode of the camera but I still can't seem to figure it out. Thanks in advance. I'm sure i'll find out how easy this was to fix.

SOURCE: Samsung Digimax 201 and INFINEON 128mB SD Card

Had a similar problem running windows XP, it couldn't read my sandisk SD card on a usb sandisk imagemate reader/writer. The solution on Microsoft's site was worthless, having already applied all XP patches. Fortunately, I tried accessing the SD card under windows 2000 and it worked fine, so I formatted the SD card in windows 2000 and now it works fine in XP.

SOURCE: Trying to transfer pics on internal memory to my SD card.

Set the image storage setting of the camera to Internal.
Once it is set to internal, put the card in the camera and press review.
Copy the pictures from the internal memory to the card.

I have a Nikon D5300. I can see the photo count number increasing, but I cannot view the images and they are not going on the SD card. Where are they? The SD card is not full.

many small Nikon cameras have memory to store images ON THE CAMERA. If you have a memory card installed that the CAMERA CAN READ it will put images on the card. if the memory card is corrupted the camera will not use it.

First Backup all IMAGES on Memory Card to COMPUTER make sure you saved ALL images. This is IMPORTANT.

After you SAVED all images you PUT Memory card back in camera and FORMAT it (Format is in TOOL Menu that looks like a wrench)

Now if you can take an images and it saves to memory card you are done. To see if they go to MEMORY CARD. Turn off camera and remove MEMORY CARD and Check.

If it STILL does not work you may have a defective memory card.

hmmm you should try the followings:

First insert your SD card and try to make a copy of your pics from camera memory to your SD card. And then use this SD card to your computer.

Or Using Camera manufacturer and model no. search some driver and software for you so that you can transfer the pics to computer.

if still not fix, let me know your manufacturer and model no.

I have a brand new PENTAX E70L camera, with SD memory card. i took a few photos on it and then turned it off. Now when i turn the camera on it reads -card requires formatting.I press continue , to format...

Make sure you don't have any pics on the internal memory. To be sure, with no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions. Then, insert the card and go into the menu and do the format thing again to erase the card and optimize it. Use the menu and not the format option the camera has been giving you.

I took pics with no memory card can i retrieve the pics on card ?

Hello

Please follow these steps:

insert card> turn on cam to auto> press review> "reading memory card" > press menu> scroll down to image storage> press ok to select> select INTERNAL MEMORY> press ok

scroll down to COPY> Copy pictures to memory card> scroll down to all> press ok
message to expect: "copying"

when it goes to back the menu screen
scroll to IMAGE STORAGE again and select AUTO> ok> "reading memory card"

This should do the trick.

Kind regards

Sandisk micro SD "card error"

The five pics are being stored on the camera's internal memory. The card you used was formatted and used in your phone. It's a miracle it worked at all. You need to get a new card, format it in your new camera have fun.

Just got new easyshare, cannot review pics and pics will not copy

All cameras need a memory card of some description. A 1GB SD card would be more than big enough from any photographic shop. Make sure that the lock switch on the side of the SD card is not set.

Problem taking pictures after number 48 is shot.

Are you using a panasonic SD card? The camera may not function properly when a cheap SD card is used.

I also have a FZ7 and it works better with a memory card of the same brand.

Also, if the card or the camera are old, they may be worn out.

Memory card error is common problems in various sd cards and cf cards. I took a closer look at my little SD memory card. It has a sliding lock on it to protect data. Check to see if the card works when you slide that lock up or down. Read more about memory card:

Memory card says it needs to be formatted but i have pics on it and I need them..please help I will be waiting!

I had the same problem with my 4Gb card that has 750 photos on it. I tried doing different things, however, it did not work. At last I took the card out and blew on its chips, gave it a good shake and put it back. Then, the miracle happened. It could read all my photos. I guess there was some dust that had accumulated on the chips at the back of the card. Hope it can help you, too.
