I have a MEDIA TECH 2200 converter box and remote, problem no manual cannot program to my television. can you help?

On the television remote you have to select the Source or Input. Each press will take you through the HDMI ports and all other signal inputs like co-ax. Your LA channel is likely via the co-ax indoor aerial.

You didn't say make and model of the remote and the box. How do you expect anyone to help you directly?

The digital to analog converters did not exist when the TV was built and the remote programmed. Thus you will have more luck programming the converter box's remote to control the TV. (At least with my converter box, the included remote could only turn on and off the TV. It would only change channels on the converter.)

Most universal remotes only have codes for devices released 6 months or more before the TV was programmed. So a new universal remote will probably control both the TV and the converter box. (Program the converter box using a code for LG or Zenith set top boxes if Insignia isn't listed. LG makes Insignia video products for Best Buy.) The remotes that are programmable by a USB connection to a computer are the fastest to set up.

I'll try to respond to the questions in order;

1) This unit requires a converter. It only has an NTSC tuner not ATSC.
2) The remote will not control the converter as the coverter is too new.


Your best bet for having a songle control for all devices is to purchase a universal remote that will control the converter. I am not aware of one, but must admit that I have not really looked much. To control the number of devices you would like, the control will likely cost in the $10-$15 range.
