try cycling the power to the heater itself. Check for damage (pack rats, etc..). It sounds like you may have had a direct short. It could be a board problem or a transformer problem. If you're still getting the service heater light, check to see if any diagnostic LED is illuminated behind the board.

This is an ignition flame falure code. Could be you don't have gas getting to the pilot, no spark to ignite the pilot or your ignition is not reading the flame. Sorry to say but it's probally time to get the pool guy out to look at it. Good luck.

SOURCE: heater cycles on / off

This could be a water flo problem. you need to chech to be sure your by-pass valve is closed down enough to force water threw heater, There is a internal by-pass that could be a problem also, or a bad pressure switch. If the by-pass isn't the problem then you should check these also.

If you are firing, and then going off and getting an E05, your igniter is to blame. It may be glowing but it's getting weak. The diagnostic goes further but that is usually the fix. with inactivity, the igniter is always to blame. You really need to fire it off weekly to make it reliable.

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

Error code E05 can be caused by many failures in several places. The owner's manual has a decent flow chart in it to help diagnose where the trouble lies. You will find it on page 43 here...

I have a Pentair Master Temp 200. My pool tech fixed the E-05 error code a week ago. Now the amber heating led blinks for maybe 30 seconds but the heater doesn't come on and goes to the service heater...

Take off he front panel so you can see the back side of the circuit board.
Turn it on and once it fails see what red lights are lit on the back of the board, this will point you in the right direction as to what needs to be addressed.

After 128 r13 displays, service system displays. What is wrong?

A lot of things could be wrong. Sounds like your not to mechanical, you could start with the air flow switch. I think it would be safer for you to call a heater pro.

There is no reset on the mastertemp. All that changes is the temperature settings. DO NOT push the yellow button on the back of the cpu board.

Pentair MasterTemp 200 is not turning on the screen is not showing anything, i don't even see a light. The guy hook it to a power source, but we see nothing.

There is probably no power coming to the heater. The guy who connected it to a power source should be able to get you going again. If not then if you have a friend or neighbor who can help you look for the problem then that is an option. If you are still stuck then you could contact Pentair technical support at 800-693-0971 and they may be able to help you figure out the next step.

I hope this helps.

Heater cycles on and of, pool/spa does not reach desired temp

hello, It sounds like you may not be getting circulation thru the heater. Make sure the valves are open to allow water to pass thru the heating system. Some systems use a bypass on the heater so there is not a lot of wear on the coil system in the heater. If it is not circulating it will get too hot and the safety shut down will occure. If you are getting water circulating thru the heater, then the thermocouple or auto start igniter system is not working correctly. It is trying to start and can't then recycles. If the burners are igniting on the startup and then shutting back down you may have a bad control unit or thermal sensor unit. Since the unit is gas have a professional service it for you. Good Luck, RAC
