Embroidery Machine How do you adjust the tension on the Futura when you embroider? No where in the help section does it tell you how to do this.

That does not work. My stitches are either too tight or too loose.

  • MaggieE Dec 14, 2007

When it first starts sewing the initial stitches are very loose I can see the little loops but when it embroiders on top of it it's fine but the little loops come out on the sides because they were too loose.
On the back I think it's too tight because the bobbin thread is pulling the top thread I don't know what's wrong with it. I have it set on E.

There is a numbered dial which has numbers and the letter E.  Turn it to E for embroidery.  Thats is the correct tension.

I have been using my embroidery fuction for a few years now and it always had a good tension result until the past 4 times I have used it. Now the tension is off even though it is still set on the E as I have always had it. What is wrong now after useing a while does it need to be adjusted again to work right?

My singer sesq embroidery machine keeps saying it's locked up it embroiders a few stitches. . I have gone through the start up process several times, changed the needle and bobbin and no luck

I'm assuming that you have a Futura embroidery machine. It sounds to me as if your thread is either not between your upper tension disks, or it's on the rim. This is caused by threading while the presser foot is down.

ALL sewing machines MUST be threaded with the presser foot UP. This is because that is the only time that the tension disks are spread to accept the thread. The machine has a "thread out" sensor, and it's triggered when the thread is not between those disks, making it beep and stopping the machine.

Consult your user's manual, and in the maintenance section in the back it will show you how to remove the cover over the needle shaft for maintenance. To identify the tension disks, just raise and lower the presser foot a few times--it is the only thing that will move, whether the machine is on or off.

I have a futura SEQS 6000. It sews perfectly fine but when I try to embroider the thread is either unthreaded or becomes tangled with the bobbin thread and doesn't finish the design.

indicates that the needle thread is not tight enough some embroidery threads are finer than normal threads so require an increase in thread tension

Why is the fabric bunching into the bobbin when embroidering with the Singer Futura

bobbin thread is too high pressure or too low pressure on teh top adjustment!

remove bobbin and turn tension screw about 1/8turn left (anticlockwise) check if still grabbing, if so - top thread turn about 1/4 turn (at embroidery ir should do automatically, but sometimes need kick...).

check if it is still grabbing on the bottom, do it grab during straight? zigzag? double zigzag? if do not - setting on the pattern need to be look at. if it tangle as well on these three - need definitely servicing...

follow manual how to adjust.

My bobbin thread keeps coming to the top of my fabric during embroidering on my Singer Futura CE350, I've tried bobbin embroidery thread, regular embroidery thread and clear nylon thread, I've tried...

With the embroidering, some of the bobbin thread is SUPPOSED to show on the top of your embroidery-the machine isn't doing anything incorrectly. You'll need to thread your bobbin with the same thread as you are using with the top. I had the same "problem" when I first got the machine and took it to a wonderful local technician whose helped me with a lot of things who informed me that this is perfectly normal on embroidery machines.

I just got it out of the box and I am trying to embroider and it will start a line then jam up leaving a huge thread ball at the bobbin

Make sure you're adjusting your tension to the "E" setting. Also be sure you have dropped the feed dog (refer to the user's manual for the setup for embroidery).

Futura ce-100 embroidering in the wrong place

I decided to simply start from the beginning and start all over. I turned off the machine, detached the embroidery unit and blew into the sensor (where the machine and embroidery unit connect). I'm not sure what the problem was, but it was fine after that! Just goes to show that no matter how frustrating things can be, it pays to just take a moment and start over!!

check to be sure machine is being threaded correctly first, then when pressure foot is lowered pull thread and see if you are getting tension, if not assembly is bad

Singer futura ce-100 embroidery machine

Under the embroidery attachement (on the front side) is a lever to engage or disengage the "feed dog control." When embroidering, you need to move the lever to the level to disengage. The feed dog control should only be at the righe side position, or raised when you are not using the embroidery attatchment.
