Question about Maytag Dryers
I have a maytag legacy series electric front load dryer. It is making a high pitch squealing noise intermittently. The repair man came here and charged me over $100 to fix it. It was quiet for months and it is now worse than before. I want to take it apart. Help. I can't find the schematic drawing to do so.
First, pop up the top of the dryer -- use a large slotted screwdriver under each corner of the top. There will be screws holding the front of the dryer -- take these out and take the front off. The squealing is coming from roller bushings which need lubricating. Apply machine oil to all the axles/bushings -- this most likely will stop the squealing -- and don't forget to unplug it first.
