SOURCE: I corrupeted/erased the firmware on my kodak 5100 printer

i am pretty sure that pop up was for software update and not firmware update......even if you have cancelled the update you may just visit www.kodak.com/go/downloads and select printers in the first drop down and then select all in one printers and then in the last drop down select your printer model and click on go on the next page is the option to download the software and firmware........so select the second option which says firmware for (printer model).........when you download it make sure you do not run it and save it on the desktop and make sure the printer is turned on then once it is saved to the desktop screen then double click on it to run it and it will install the latest version of firmware.......if it was for the software update check what is the version of your software first........for that you need to open home center and click on the question mark in the top right and click on i and a window that pops up just look on the extreme left hand bottom corner for the version.....if it is not 3.4 then you may go to the last option in the right hand pane that came up when you clicked on the question mark........the last option is check for updates and it will update the software..........let me know if this worked and if this was helpful or not............

From what I read, you would need to install the firmware update for W7 compatibility:

Tip

Kodak Manual(PDF)

Hello

This is a great tip explaining where you will be able to download updated PDF format manuals for your Kodak device. This will cover all the devices manufactured by Kodak.

This catalog will include the following devices.

  • Digital cameras
  • Scanners
  • Digital photo frames
  • Multifunction printers
  • Printers
  • Camcorders
  • Projectors.
also feel free to visit Kodak's official website. Read product reviews, take part in tech forums and a lot more.

You will also be able to download drivers and firmware updates for your device.

I really hope this can be of help. Please rate accordingly.

Kind regards
Andrea

Ribbon sticks to paper jamming machine 6800 kodak thermal printer

There was firmware update needed to use a change in the media as Fall 2010. I don't know why the firmware update was needed but if you didn't update your printer it may fix it.

Try updating the Firmware on www.kodak.com/go/drivers

If that does not help remove the rear cleanout panel and clean the rollers with the clothe.

If the issue is still there, contact Kodak on 0870 243 0270 (UK) cause you're printers faulty

Printer

Try updating the printer's firmware. I had the same problem with my Windows XP machine and my Kodak 5500 AiO Printer. Then, I went to Kodak's website, looked for my printer, and downloaded their firmware update. The only curious thing is that when I ran the software to update the printer, it said the firmware version of the update was the same as the firmware version the printer already had. I went ahead and updated anyway, and now it works!
Just be careful when updating the firmware on your printer, follow Kodak's intructions.
