Question about Fargo DTC 525-LC Thermal Label Printer

My DTC 525 fargo printer did not print.

The printer will not print if I send command from the computer system, but will only print test print if i press manual bottons on the printer. I tried to change the printer cable to another one, there is no action. Please advise me on what to do. Thanks.

If you have the drivers installed correctly , then your only other option is the communication board is bad on the printer.

Cant get printer and computer to communicate


Make sure to download the printer's driver before connecting it to the computer. It can be found here Drivers Downloads. On this same page, under the misc section, be sure to download the Fargo Workbench application. It is essential to updating firmware and diagnosing future issues.

After driver has been downloaded and UnZip'd to a folder (I usually put it on the desktop for easy locating), Connect the print to your computer. the computer should prompt you with "new device" or something of that nature.

Go to Start (bottom left of your desktop) then to "Printers and Faxes" or "Printers and Devices" (depending on your version of windows). Check to see if Fargo DTC 550 is listed in your printer section.

Make sure to set the DTC 550 as your Default Printer, on this screen or through the ID badging program you are using.

Fargo dtc 525 driver for win7


For model number DTC525, your printer divers, firmware, User Guides and Diagnostic Tools are available here:

At this point drivers are only availAble for Windows NT/2000/XP, Windows 98/ME and Mac.

Your printer is currently NOT supported for Windows 7.

You might consider submitting a Help Ticket to see if the manufacturer is prepared to assist.

Fargo DTC 550 driver for windows server 2008 64 bit


Actually, Fargo drivers will not work on any 64 bit system - 32 bit only.

Ribbon mis-cue?


When you have a ribbon mis-cue, first remove the ribbon. Go to the printer driver, printing preferences, calibrate, sensors. Click sesors then send... You should hear 2 beeps. Put you ribbon back in and try to print again.

If you still have the mis-cue it is a belt issue all DTC400's made 2006 and prior have had this belt issue. I don't recommend fixing this yourself, send it to a authorized Fargo repair center. This way it is under warranty.

you can check with fargo, or perhaps your vendor is giving you the bad rep, since they refuse to help you. i would not do business with them again.

if the printer worked before maybe the program needs to be reinstalled.
