Does it do it only in one speed, or both high/low and reverse?
Try to put weight on the one side that is spinning and see if power transfers to the other side.
The little tikes hummer batteries tend to go weak if they are not charged up on a regular basis.
If there is a grinding noise in the gearbox you can find them at this website http://www.shopjandl.com/884931300.html but I would check the connections under the seat before I purchased the gearbox.
Hope this helps

What causes the wheels spin when begin accelerating.? It does not happen all the time. Could this be the traction control component?

First, does your vehicle have traction control? If so, generally the default position is on. Meaning you would have to disable or turn off the traction control. If you do indeed have traction control and it is on, you will experience very little slippage, especially on dry pavement. Not knowing anything specific about your vehicle, if the TCS( traction control system) is on and your are still encountering wheel-spin, perhaps a sensor has failed. Try gentle acceleration or higher gear starts or four-wheel drive if available.

Second, wheel-spin upon acceleration is caused by the overabundance of torque relative to the friction available at the contact patch of the vehicles tires.

TCS would most likely not impact alignment. With higher mileage, older vehicles or vehicles that have sustained damage at some point bushings, bearing, tie rods and ball joints should be thoroughly inspected. As any of these can make proper alignment problematic.

I seem to recall some TCS that were integrated into the braking system, providing braking on the axle that was spinning, so there is a possible tie-in.

Dare I say, " Take it to a mechanic who specializes in your particular brand of vehicle?"

Wheels spinning in opposite directions

the polarity is reversed on one of the motors, if the gear selecter is in low or high gear the wheels should propell the vehicle forward, whichever wheel is not propelling the vehicle forward switch the wires around on the motor

My 4 wheel drive isn't working. why are my tires spinning on the littlest patch of ice?

Hi Correia,
Having four wheel drive built onto a vehicle gives traction through all four wheels, meaning that if one of the four wheels looses traction all the driving motion is directed through that spinning wheel. When driving on snow, ice or mud, gently does it all the time! Gentle acceleration and slow down using gentle gear changes. Use the brakes as little as possible. Remember if you lock up the brakes and the vehicle begins to slide you'll have no control at all! Traction control is entirely different than four wheel drive. Traction control will control any wheel which begins to slip and thereby keep you in control.

What is traction control sistem

TRACTION CONTROL: An enhancement of an existing ABS system that prevents wheel spin while accelerating on wet or slick surfaces. It uses the same wheel speed sensors to monitor wheel speed during acceleration, but requires some additional control solenoids and a pump to apply braking pressure to control wheel spin. The traction control system brakes the drive wheel that's starting to spin to shift torque to the opposite drive wheel that still has traction. Most traction control systems only operate at speeds up to about 30 mph. Additional control strategies that some traction control systems use to limit wheel spin include reducing the throttle opening, upshifting the transmission, retarding spark timing and deactivating fuel injectors.

Hope helps.

How do you know if the 4 weel drive is off in a 1992 ford explorer eb . The light is on but idk if the light is working right

Find a dirt or gravel road or driveway and accelerate hard from a complete stop. If it is in 4wd, the vehicle should take off with little or no wheel spin. If it is in 2wd, the back wheels will spin easily. Be careful and maintain full control of your vehicle while doing this.

A TRIANLE WITH AN EXCLAMATION MARK INSIDE AND AN OUTER CIRCLE WITH A LITTLE ARROW AT THE END????

For today's typical high-torque engines, traction control (ASR) can increase both comfort and safety, particularly when driving on slippery roads or surfaces offering differing levels of grip. Traction control permits smooth starting and acceleration through the full speed range without wheel-spin or fishtailing.

tdisline_60.jpg
ASR only operates in conjunction with the electronic accelerator (E-gas) and uses components of the anti-lock braking system (ABS). If one wheel suddenly begins to rotate faster than the others (slip), ASR intervenes in the engine management system and reduces power until the wheel stops spinning.
The ASR system represents a further contribution to active safety as it maintains vehicle traction and directional stability throughout the acceleration phase at any speed. In addition, it reduces tyre wear. Activation of the ASR system is indicated by a flashing indicator lamp in the instrument cluster.

H2 Hummer wheel not working

Take off the seat and make sure that the wires are connected. If they are connected, go ahead and take the two wires from the good motor and put them on the motor not working.
If it still does not spin, then I would get the little tikes motor gearbox assembly from
http://www.shopjandl.com/.
They are repair technician's and know there stuff (they help me with my ride on toys)
Hope this helps

Little tykes hummer how to remove gearbox

You have to take off the push nuts, but you will have to replace them.
The little tikes gearbox assembly can be purchased at this site http://www.shopjandl.com/
but if you just need the push nuts like I did you get them here http://www.shopjandl.com/0801-0226.html.
I had the same problem, so all I had to do has tighten up those screws and replace the push nuts.
Hope this helps

Rear wheels-

Both wheels should spin in 2nd gear. Only one wheel may spin in 1st, but if you put a little pressure on the one wheel that spins it should make the other wheel start spinning.
But both wheels should spin in high gear at the same time.
Hope this helps. If there is more help you can also ask these guys at this website. http://www.shopjandl.com/ I get my parts from them and they seem to also work on them as well
