Question about Sigma Sport BC 16.12 STS CAD

Open Question

After setting up the 16.12 STS Cad, I got speed reading but no cadence reading. I followed the directions but the cadence blinks '0'. I checked the battery, I tried adjusting the position of the display unit but still no joy. I did notice that the magnet that was supplied with the unit is one that attaches magnetically to the pedal axle and not one that is strapped on.

SOURCE: Hello, My wireless sigma 1009

Have you tried manually pairing the sensor to the display.

Press and hold the Mode 1 Button (Bottom Right) until SYNCH RESET starts flashing on the display then turn the wheel till the display returns to normal.

I this doesn't work then let me know as you may need to reset the wheel size.

SOURCE: My Sigma BC 1106 bike

I had this problem as well. What I found was that the transmitter path from the magnetic sensor to the computer is very narrow, a 15 degree cone. Reposition your computer to fall within this cone. It should pick up the signal.

Syncing with Sigma BC1009

Had this same problem and nothing worked after trying everything I could think of. Speedometer would never display a blinking 0 (just stagnant). Turned out the computer mount on the handle bar was turned around backwards. The sigma letters go towards the front of the bike. Placed the device in the mount, the 0 started blinking and sync'd up with sensor. Finally works!

Sigma BC 1609 Cadence Bicycle Speedometer reads my movement much slower than I am actually going. E.g. moving about 15, reads as 5 mph.

I had the same problem. It is caused because the mount is facing the wrong direction and your computer is swapping speed and cadence. 5 mph would mean 63 RPM of the wheel which probably what your pedal is actually doing. The wheel is actually turning at about 3 times that rate so if you check your cadence it is probably maxing out at 180 even though that wouldn't be possible.

To fix this, just twist your mount 180 degrees on your handlebars or stem and try again. That way the computer is correctly lined up with the mount.

Hello i have a 1993 chevrolet silverado 1500 and i jus replaced the fuel pump and the distributor and now it wont stay running and it back fires can u tell wat might be wrong

Hello theman022002,

Your description would indicate that the timing is off. Possibly when you installed the new distributor you were off a tooth or two. Turning the distributor Will Not adjust the timing.

You will need to reinstall the distributor with every thing set to top dead center, then follow the steps below to set the proper cam retard offset.

Good Luck.

Ignition Timing: Adjustments

TEST PROCEDURE
The ignition timing cannot be adjusted. The distributor may need adjusting to prevent crossfire. To insure proper alignment of the distributor, perform the following:

1. With the ignition OFF, connect the scan tool.
2. Start the engine. Allow the engine to idle until the engine reaches normal operating temperature.

IMPORTANT: Cam retard Offset reading will not be accurate below 1,000 RPM.

3. Increase engine speed to 1,000 RPM while performing the following steps.
4. Use the scan tool in order to monitor the Cam retard Offset.
5. If the Cam retard indicates a value of 0 degrees, the distributor is properly adjusted.
6. If the Cam retard does not indicate 0 degrees, the distributor must be adjusted.

ADJUSTING PROCEDURE
1. With the engine OFF, slightly loosen the distributor hold down bolt.

IMPORTANT: Cam retard Offset reading will not be accurate below 1,000 RPM.

2. Start the engine and raise the engine speed to 1,000 RPM.
3. Use the scan tool in order to monitor the Cam retard Offset.
4. Rotate the distributor as follows:
a. To compensate for a negative reading, rotate the distributor in the counterclockwise direction.
b. To compensate for a positive reading, rotate the distributor in the clockwise direction.
5. Repeat step 4 until 0 degrees is obtained.
6. Turn OFF the ignition.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

7. Tighten the distributor hold-down bolt to 3 N.M. (25 lb ft).
8. Start the engine.
9. Raise the engine speed to 1,000 RPM and with the scan tool view the Camshaft retard Offset to verify 0 degrees has been maintained.

Regards,
netvan

The meter that you set that tells you your speed, distance and calories burned stays at 0:0...the mode moves around when you push that but it stays registered at 0 for all modes. I put new batteries in it...

hi,
check ur tread mill's control consoles press button switches first. if all good the other chance is, ur control console have a programmed ic (integated circuit) in it. some programs are loaded in that ic, with which its displays speed distance traveled and all other settings. may be posibiliy for the ic get faulty. if so, the any way is consult the manufacturer, because you will not get the same in open market.

I have a Cat Eye Strada cycling computer model CC-RD200 that I have been using for the last couple of months. This model comes with a cadence sensor (as well as a speed sensor) that I cannot get to work. I...

It sounds like you know what's wrong - distance. Take the magnet in your hand and wave it past the cadence sensor to see if THAT works.

As far as why your crankarm and chainstay are too far apart, well, maybe your bottom bracket is too long or something, but it is mostly beyond the scope of anyone who can't see it to judge. Take it to a bike shop and ask them.

I have a weslo cadence 200 cs treadmill. I changed the batteries but the display keeps blinking 0

You probably need a new treadmill display screen but one thing you can try is to get a 6 volt power suppply and use the power supply instead of the batteries.

I can not get the bicycle mounted cadence receiver to communicate with the GPS unit

1. move unit closer to cad sensor, if it works your battery in Cad is weak, change it with CR 2032 (3 volt). 2. are you pressing the reset button , the red light comes on then turns green and blinks green for sixty passes of the Cad. 3. If the red light does not turn green the reset button is faulty. 4. make sure its a 305 and not a 205 as this does not work with cad ( I know! but you would be surprised how many dealers will sell both units together)

If the amp is in protect mode, it probably has shorted output transistors. To eliminate other possible problems, read through the following page:

Garmin Edge 305/GSC10 Cadence and speed sensor

Had the same problem. Here is how I fixed it.
1. Changed the battery in the cadence sensor. (GSC10)
2. Turned on my garmin 305 edge outside to acquire satellites (probably not nec but did it anyway)
3. Pressed reset on the GSC10, saw red/green flash (what order?)
4. Here's the missing step: On the Edge unit, go to SYSTEM.
5. Scroll to bottom, choose ACCESSORIES.
6. On acc. page, go to bottom, under Cadence Sensor, to the option RESTART SCAN. Press That. Now your cadence and speed should work.
