Washing cycle stops when it should empty and spin washing. The rinse hold light, 1200/600 and on/off light button flashes. The door will not open at all even when i pull the plug. Can you please help! Lisa
It sounds like your timer might be faulty. the timer controls the washing cycles. I would bet if you replace the timer your problems would be solved. Of course, nothing is 100% certain.
the timer consists of a rectangular bakelite piece with a bunch of spade [push-on] terminals. On this timer assembly is a small motor that looks like it came out of an electric clock. It is this thing that operates the washer/dryer cycles. through a series of cams inside the assembly it either makes or breaks contacts. if you replace this motor it may solve the problem or at least tell you if the rest of the timer assembly is good or not. anyway, replacing this motor is cheaper than the whole timer which costs about $130.
