Figure out if it is the lighter or the outlet itself. Push the lighter down, if it stays down, but doesn't get hot and pop back out it is in the outlet,if it doesn't stay down it's the lighter~ double check this by plugging something else like a cell phone charger into it.If you have no juice~ Look for a burnt out fuse( easy cheap fix), if you can't find one you should replace the outlet.
How do you change the unit?

There should be a fuse in the panel under the left hand side of the dash board. It would be labled cig ltr or assy. I hope this helps. Don't forget to rate my answer, thanks.

I would put a red volt meter lead on the middle and a the black lead on the outside. If it checks above 12 vols, the lighter itself is bad. If no voltage is present, you have to check all the positive wires back to the battery. If those are all working, you have a bad ground.

before u pull panel, check for 12vdc with voltmeter inside lighter socket. If u have it, then clean contacts and/or replace lighter(not socket, wiring is fine) May save a lot of work. If you don't have voltage are you 100% sure you have right fuse and not the one below, above, or next to it? I still make mistakes with numbered fuses, which number is for which fuse. To make sure I start counting at 1.
