I've got the same TV with the same problem. Sometimes by moving it on the stand the lines will go away but it only sometimes temporarily fixes the problem. For a while it seemed like it needed to heat up to go away but that is not the case. It seems like there is a bad connection somewhere but i cant seem to find it. One day, one thing will fix it, then the next day it wont do the trick. It gets very irritating.

Does it come and go? I would try reseting the ribbon cables between the LCD panel and the T-CON board first.
The Flexible Printed Circuit BoardS (FPCB) are ultrasonic welded to the LCD TFT panel, they are not SOLDERED on! The connections do get bad due to very delicate nature of how the LCD panels are made. You can also try squeezing the around the top area of the screen where the lines are to see if the lines go away.

Capacitors kit: http://lcdalternatives.auctivacommerce.com/Default.aspx he can make you a set of caps.
Or www.digikey.com, just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current and long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.
Please post back what you find.

SOURCE: I have a Mitsubishi WS-55313
The lines across the screen may indicate one of the picture tubes are or going faulty, depending on what color the lnes are on the screen, The slow start is bad capacitors in the digital control board module inside the set, there is a power supply module inside the metal canaister with bad caps on the board about 6-8 of them needs replacing the value to replace them with is 680uf rated at 16volts. The screen is probably no longer avaiable for purchase any more as well as the picture tubes. If any of the picture tubes fail then I suggest its time to purchase a new more modern television.

1. "wavy" may mean a signal problem inside the set--are you seeing colors out of position or skewed around letters etc?
2. Does it do it when a DVD is played? (this will rule out certain things).
